Are there any Freepers who support John McCain?

Are there any Freepers who support John McCain?

If you support Mr. McCain, can you make the case for your man?

Can you make the case without bringing up the War?

Can you make the case without bringing up Judges?

Can you make the case without using any ACU ratings? (Those don't impress anybody.)

Can you make the case without insults or telling people to "calm down"?

Can you make the case without the type of lying and dishonesty we've come to expect from John McCain and his special friend Mike Huckabee?

Can you make the case without trashing Barack Obama?

Can you make the case without using Hillary Rodham Clinton as some kind of boogyman or boogyperson?

Can you?

The ball is in your court.

If he's the G.O.P. nominee I will vote for him. Although he is not the 'conservative' he was as a congressman/senator in the 80s he is not now the 'liberal' many have dubbed him.
The issues that frighten many in regards to a 'president McCain' cannot be realized without support from both congressional houses. In this scenario I would much prefer that congress working with a president McCain than with a president Clinton or Obama. Either of the former is capable of doing irrevocable damage to this nation. Hopefully, in four or eight years an authentic Reagan-conservative like Mike Pence will seek the Oval Office.

I am voting for McCain to piss off the liberal trolls who are on here pretending to be conservatives for Hillary.

Looks like the makings of a classic tagline...

Reagan probably wanted Carter to win so that he could try again in 1980.

You seriously believe that Ronald Reagan voted for Jimmy Carter?

Bottom line, all that matters is the vote. Who did Reagan vote for in 1976? Ford or Carter?

You are suggesting that Ronald Reagan voted for Jimmy Carter and put his own personal interests ahead of the country he loved so dearly.

As I said earlier, I'm sure he voted for Ford.

For those who ask 'What Would Reagan Do', for those who hold up President Reagan as the standard for all modern day conservatives, for all conservatives who are unsure about what to do this November...maybe we should take a lesson from President Ronald Reagan.

True. If there is anyone who could “engineer” a 2009 reversal in Iraq now, it would be either one of the Democrats.

The question itself implies much.

I think Movement Conservatives are not understanding that they need to do some outreach of their own. It’s not just McCain who’s got the popularity problem.

I really do think there’s a reasonable chance of a realignment on the right in the years ahead. I just don’t see guys like Crist accepting the current situation of takfiri politics where their only role is to say “yes sir.” They could be kept in line when Movement Conservatives were delivering wins, but we’re not in that place anymore.

I also look at the new evangelical leaders coming out, and they’re more like Hucakbee than Bush. This split will come later probably, but I don’t think evangelicals will be marching in lockstep with Movement Conservatism for much longer.

The Iraqi people are on notice that if they want to survive past 2008 they must, within the year, get things to the point that the Democrats can no longer deny that they are on the path to success. If they can achieve that, Hillary will try to avoid doing anything that could cause failure in Iraq to be pinned on her. Rather, she'll figure a way to blame Bush for the problems while claiming the credit for the successes.

“If McCain chooses a reasonably good VP and doesn’t screw up too badly before November, then I’ll vote for him. If he chooses someone like Huckabee, then I’ll vote third party. I’m going to have to hold my nose pretty tightly to vote for McCain. The thought of Huckabee being his anointed successor just makes me want to barf.”

Ditto, all of the above.

Checkers - How about answering these questions:

Is it true that you, Checkers, and like-minded people, totally lack the DNA necessary for survival in a world in which radical Islam has sworn to kill everyone of us and will interpret any weakness or retreat as a sign - a sign from the Almighty that the Almighty is on their side, thereby leading to a geometrically rapid increase in their murderous activities?

Is it true, Checkers, that only through your anonymity can you, a walking obscurity, gratuitously slander good people who have put their lives on the line for protecting this nation, its honor, its liberty, and all the freedom we have - including, yes, even for you to send forth babble from the lips, babble that the very people who want to kill us, upon hearing, drool in ecstasy over?

I argue that you can’t make the case for McCain without bringing up all the stuff you touched on. But this is real life we’re talking about, and all of that stuff 1) matters and 2) is very relevant. So clearly McCain needs to win, because the only alternative is a bigger mess than we have now.

You don’t want to hear anything supporters have to say. You just want to argue. Have a good night.

It just amazes me when people use the borders against McCain and refuse to vote for him and look the other way when an Islamo takes over the WH.

“What’s wrong with trashing Obama or Hillary Clinton?”

I doubt trashing Obama will be a successful strategy for McCain.

Voters already know a lot of the trash about HRC. I’m not sure that will work.

McCain had better be ready for the trash that’s coming his way.

Besides, I thought McCain was against negative campaigning. Is he going to flip-flop on that, too?

“Is McCain as bad as having most of the federal government, including the courts, under the control of Obama or Hillary?”

You ask that as a rhetorical question when, in fact, it is a very legitimate question for undecided voters.

“Is Huckabee more credible than or even all that preferable to McCain?”

Both suckabee.

“Are conservatives assured victory two or even four years from now if they sit out the election?”

Are they assured victory with President McCain? That’s not a rhetorical question.

Can you expound on this?

Doing ANYTHING to assist Hillary Clinton in securing power over the government and military is completely asinine.

Is your post meant to make undecided voters want to vote for McCain?

Or repel them from McCain?
