N.M. Democratic Winner Still Unknown

New Mexico Democratic officials still don't know who won the Super Tuesday presidential caucuses -- and may not for days.

New Mexico is the only state of the 22 in Tuesday's primaries and caucuses without a declared winner.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., led Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois by 1,123 votes statewide Thurday, the Albuquerque Journal said, with results hinging on nearly 17,000 provisional ballots.

The Democrats may start counting those Thursday. Provisional ballots are issued to voters who show up at the wrong site or have problems confirming their registration and vote by affidavit.

There were problems at the caucusing places, largely because an estimated 100,000 people showed up, three times more than forecast.

At times the lines were incredibly long, observers said. At one point, the polling place at Rio Rancho High School had 1,900 people in line. One report said thousands walked away without voting in Albuquerque, many of them opting for the yet-to-counted provisional ballots.

If past history is any indication, they’ll find enough votes for Clinton.

Bingo. The NM D@mocrats always seem to find another 'missing' box of ballots, just when they need one...

What is wrong with these places that they don’t have enough poll workers?

We already know the outcome of New Mexico. IT’S A TIE.

This media’s obsession with the ‘winner of a state’ is a little silly for the Democrat side. They are running their race based on ... CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS...

So reporting numbers based on the state total and the counties/parishes IS MORONIC. We need the results by congressional district. Because that is how the delegates are being apportioned.

After their debacle this year, the Democrats are almost certainly going to change the way they award Delegates.

How much money have the candidates spent on that side? Close to $300 MILLION?

Unreal. Over the Top.

And all for the corrupt clinton’s to be fought to a draw by the new guy on the block. AMAZING.

Same old, same old. Its funny that when a Democrat is control of anything, fraud is involved. Even their own primary.

What's going to be real fun to watch is what the Clintons do if Obama manages to squeak out the nomination...

Then Hillary will realize she only has 1 more chance to be president before she is to old and thats in 2012. So the Clintons task until election day will be to sabotage Obama without appearing to be sabotaging Obama and/or help McCain without appearing to help McCain.

It's a strange world, if McCain wins in a McCain/Obama match up he may very well have the Clinton's to thank for his victory...

From KOB-TV:

The New Mexico Democratic Party announced Thursday that it will recount all of the votes cast in Tuesday's presidential caucus in addition to the 17,000 provisional ballots that haven't yet been counted.

Party chairman Brian Colon says the party and the campaigns of Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama all agreed it was important to conduct a recount in order to assure that there is an accurate tally of all ballots cast.

The recount is expected to be completed by Friday with nearly 17,000 provisional ballots still to count. There is still no word on when provisional ballot count will be completed .

Initially, the party announced that the only obstacle to a final tally was counting the provisional ballots - paper ballots cast by people who showed up at the wrong polling place or voters whose eligibility was in question.

Well, they have enough time -- until at least the summer convention to get it right.

So, any bets as to when the usual “all the sudden” boxes of ballots are “discovered” out of the blue in Rio Arriba County?

The answer is simple.

It takes the dead Democrats a long time to vote.

They're old, they're slow, and Rio Arriba County (where traditionally more people vote than the actual population) was covered up with a 3' snowstorm.

You people out there need to develop a little more manana attitude.

We've perfected it here.
