Clint Eastwood, actor, producer and himself a smalltown mayor, sees a sense of masochism in the Republicans who say they cannot support John McCain's bid for the White House.

In an interview with FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto live from Pebble Beach, Calif., at the site of the AT&T National Pro-Am Golf Tournament aired this evening, Eastwood talks politics.

Eastwood has this to say about Ann Coulter’s claim that she would vote for Hillary Clinton over John McCain: "Conservatives, often times, are very masochistic. They say, 'I’d rather not show up than have so-and-so. If it’s not my guy then I won’t show up’. You can’t be that way.”

I sort of agree with him. I am not pleased with McCain but I will vote for him. Only because the alternative is much worse. We will have to keep him in check but the idea of we will let America fall just because we don’t like McCain is childish. Who said we will automatically get amnesty. I thought that was a done deal after the 2006 elections

I didn’t like either of his movies. The Japanese were brutal fanatics who are made out to be saints. He had to make up a scene where American soldiers killed surrendering Japanese but he couldn’t seem to find any of the hundreds of Japanese atrocities. I didn’t like the way he portrayed America and Japan as if there was no difference between them.
