God bless Rush and I could care less what the RNC thinks. My wonderful Republican party has way too many rino's and the ones in leadership of the RNC lead the way.

The RNC will learn one day there are many of us lifetime Republicans that have had it with being thrown rino's to vote for.

Give us conservatives or forgetaboutit.

Actually they are idiots. If “They know how many conservatives will gladly vote for McCain”, he would not have went to CPAC lied about his record and begged for the base support. Which of course disgusted us even more. Will there be a few sellouts? Of course, there always are, just not many.

Is it possible to re-take the Republican Party or it it time to start a smaller-tent Conservative Party? “Shut up and do what you’re told” doesn’t seem to be a viable alternative.

No one else but McCain. BTW; has McCain ever released his 201 file/dd214 or has he singed his form180?

What some call liberty today(freedom and individual rights), is instead licentiousness.

They are like children sitting in the marketplace, and speaking one to another, and saying: We have piped to you, and you have not danced: we have mourned, and you have not wept. Lk 7:32

Conservatives are looking like a bunch of finger-pointing-temper-tantrum-throwing-doom-saying-dystopian crybabies who want to pack up their toys and go home because the rest of the world isn't playing by their rules. Anything that is wrong with the Republican party, the country, the world--that isn't our fault. Everything would be ice cream and chocolate cake if only they would listen to us true and undefiled conservatives. Downright embarrassing.

Conservatives need to take a look hard look in the mirror, then regroup and frankly face the political realities of a changing electorate and respond by lighting a fire instead of cursing the darkness. Vast swaths of the voting public simply aren't buying the product anymore. The forward-looking, hopeful, optimistic and positive brand of Reagan conservatism is being drowned out by the cacophony of talk radio rage that My Way or the Highway Conservatism is broadcasting.

And to think that Rush used to contrast the cheery optimism of the Right while mocking the Left for their dour and angry world view.

If you dare not to support what's forced upon you, you are branded as the cause of their defeat.....

Bravo!

Well said.

They will whine and complain long hard and continuously and all the time realize we were right and they were at fault. Yet for all of the noise and realization, they will not change.

Agreed. There isn't a conservative candidate running this time. Conservatives don't have a dog in this race.

All kvetching aside, we're witnessing nothing less than the death of The GOP. Just as conservatives witnessed the death of The Whigs in the 1850's, we're witnessing the decline and fall of The GOP today. The country has always had one party the members of which have happily prostituted their principles (The Democrats) and another party the members of which stood by their principles (First The Federalists, then The Whigs and then The GOP). Whenever the leaders of the principled party decided to prostitute their values, its followers left and founded a new principled party. (In short, the country isn't big enough for two prostitute parties.)

The only question that remains is this: Which party will take The GOP's place???

“When you stand on principle”

Is it the screwing over the troops while deployed overseas principle?

Maybe its the 30 more years of abortion because you stayed home and the Dems got to appoint the Supreme Court justices principle?

Maybe its your deeply-held higher taxes if the Dems get in principle?

Nice. Seems to me that RINO also describes a lot of the stay-at-home tantrum types who apparently want to see the war lost, more dead babies, and more of their money feeding the worst aspects of evil government. If you stay home on election day knowing that you are handing all 3 branches of the government to the Democrats, then you are as much a RINO as McCain.

I absolutely will not screw over our soldiers while they are in combat trying to protect us like so many on this forum apparently are fine with doing. I don’t like McCain any more than you, but I will not break trust with our soldiers. That is my principle.

Think everybody, think. You are being manipulated into de-facto support for the liberals and you are swallowing every bit of it hook, line, and sinker.

This time they’ll be right. I will not help them elect their Rino. NO MORE. Let’s see what they can do on their own.

Perhaps McCain will get his good friends Teddy Kennedy and Harry Reid to stump for him on the campaign trail...NOT!...let the people whom he's catered to all these years work on his campaign. I'll only work for a conservative.

The RNC aren’t idiots. They know how many conservatives will gladly vote for McCain, how many will not vote at all, and how many will hold their noses and vote for him. That they see him as the best chance should tell you something.

They're playing the odds, but let's hope they're not too surprised when reality bites them on their ample patrician asses.

You put up the guy who has the best chance of getting elected. Period. End of story. It’s politics, not Sunday School.

If your goal is power, that IS what you do.

We are electing our representative, the standard-bearer of our party. If that person is 180 degrees out of sync with what he is supposed to represent, then what have you done except prostitute yourself for power?

Yeah, they can blame us come November. But that won’t put them back in power in ‘10.

I spit them out of my mouth.

My marker is that I will work to defeat John McCain and those that stand with him. I wish for him the most humilating lopsided defeat in history. And for the dem victor that we are almost assuredly guarenteed now, I wish them the lowest turnout in years just to assure them their victory is a consequence of mcCain not their message gaining acceptance.

Liars and phonies advising Maverick how to lie about who he is to fool us that he is a conservative can join him in hell, I’m not following.

And, Well said Rush.

They pulled a boardroom coup and ousted the founders.

That is exactly how NJ got Corizine. His board of directors fired his a$$. He was the founder of Bear Sterns and he was acting dumber than a box of rocks.

If you ever want to read an example of how irrational he acted after the firing, look it up on the web. He was/is nuttier than a walnut grove.

Yes, these are the same geniuses that led the party to defeat in ‘06 and ran bob Dole.

All it tells me once again the “genuises” have taken control, ditched conservatives, and are going to be lucky i Democrats don’t acieve a supermajority this election along ith their certain d President.
