You implied that Mitt was having to fake it in Mass, I pointed out that he went in as a non republican liberal.
Bringing up Reagan is ridiculous, a 57 year old politician making an instant change a half century later after being immune to all of the changes that took place over that previous half century is a whole different ball of wax.
Political issues, parties, and accepted wisdom change over time. Reagan, the 6os, Vietnam, Roe vs Wade, etc, etc, Romney chose to be opposed to the march of and the struggles of conservatism until preparing for a new election starting in 2005.
Now he wants us to believe that he is a fire breathing right winger.
I was actually very very concerned about Romney. He had a lot of his own money for the campaign and went to state after state promising billions of dollars of new govt spending and programs that McCain and Fred couldn’t support on principle. I don’t think that was fair and it was certainly not fiscally conservative.
If he had $$$ but really wanted limited govt, I would have no problem with him using the money to sell an idea.
To be fair to her she has been pushing Mitt the Twit all along, either directly or indirectly. Another fine example of voting your hormones instead of critically analyzing all of the candidates. Our elections have become nothing more than looking for the next American Idol. The candidate may not have any brains or real conservatism in their body but they look good, are smooth talkers and have executive hair so they’re the one I support come hell or a real conservative.

It’s really very sad when so many supposedly on our side can’t tell the difference between principle from lasting conviction and integrity on the one hand, and posturing motivated by the lust for power on the other.
Sorry, but Romney as “the conservative’s conservative” is an absolute joke, but coming from a major pundit supposedly on our side is, well, I don’t have words for it at the moment.

If Romney cared the least bit for conservatism he wouldn’t have quit and ceded the race to a two bit liberal blowhard like McCain.
I watched it live, and nearly choked on my coffee. The ‘conservative’s conservatives’ all left the race, and all we have had left was yuck and yuck the 2nd.

Romney would be a 1000 times better than the former and a billion times better than the latter. Romney fought against Kennedy while McCain jumps in front of cameras to get a picture with him after trying to pass a bill that would give a free home (for them not us) to 12 million illegals.
