Massive Republican Voter Suppression in Southern Calilfornia!
News Talk Radio | 02-06-08 | PsyOp

Posted on 02/06/2008 9:01:01 AM PST by PsyOp

Reports are rolling into talk radio stations in San Diego about massive Republican vote suppression.

Thousands of Republican voters in San Diego and as far north as Los Angeles showed up to vote on Tuesday only to be told that they were registered "Non-Partisan". This meant that they could not vote for the Republican Primary candidates.

Non-Partisan (independent) voters in California can vote for Candidates in any other party, including the Democrat party, but are prohibited from voting in the Republican Primary unless they are registered as a Republican.

Rick Roberts [http://www.760kfmb.com] is currently reporting on this and has had hundreds of calls and thousands of e-mails from people who showed up to vote only to be told they were not registered as Republcans. Reports began rolling into the Roger Hedgecock show yesterday.

Several people have called in saying they witnessed this happening at polling place they worked at as volunteers. One gentleman stated that he believed at least 20% of the Republicans that showed up to vote were denied a Republican primary form because the roster showed them as "Non-Partisan".

The Republican Party in California has begun investigating this issue, but the mainstream media continues to report that Californias election "went smoothly".

It seems clear that someone or some group managed to tamper with the voter registration rolls. Either by direct access to the Registrars computer system, or by gaining access to voter information and then sending in registration cards in their name.

Southern California was projected to go heavily in favor in Mitt Romny.

"I fault Romney on one issue.... in the last debate, he should have taken the gloves off and kicked McCain square in the nuts(figuratively speaking of course). He would have gotten more respect. "

he could not do that that because he has to kiss up to the socialist republican power structure that is propping up McCain.

Now the question is: why are candidates playing the loser not denouncing this?

So correct me if I am wrong...You have to register political affiliation to vote in California???

Even if you register to vote, that is not enough???

I would consider my political affiliation to be private and what I want it to be, and no one elses business...

Ohhh wait...This is California...opps...

Not that I would stradle the fence or vote cross party lines...I know where I stand...

Those people got screwed big time...

But then again, I bet every illegal alien in Southern California voted without a hitch...

You guys should see what a provisional ballot in Texas means...

Zero, Zip, Nada...And those of us who work the polls (I am an Election Judge in my precinct) are instructed by law to tell the voter that they can vote provisionally, it just won’t count 99.99% of the time...

This whole election cycle is out of control...

Only if you want to vote for a Republican in the Primary. Because of dems and others crossing over to try and choose our candidates for us, the party decided to go back to a "closed" primary and only allow registered party members to choose the Republican candidate.

If you are a "Non-partisan" or "Decline-to-state", voter you can vote for primary candidates in the other parties since they all have "open" primaries.

I saw a local abc news story last night that showed the polling places in Cotra Costa county (berkeley) handing out provisional ballots to illegal aliens...

That does not suprise me in the least. California democrats, especially those in Berzerkly, think nothing of voter fraud.

In the early 80's when I lived in Santa Cruz, a Grand Jury had to be convened to investigate election fraud perpetrated by students and professors at UC Santa Cruz. They had out of state student illegally register to vote in the county to get some greenies elected to the Santa Cruz city council. Several student and one professor were convicted.

My mother was on the Grand Jury. According to her, they showed no remorse (except for being caught), and felt that any means justifed the ends to further their politics.

Poll workers in this state are fairly incompetent, and usually democrats (but I repeat myself).

Uh, so how do we know these aren't registered independent rabblerousers?

There's a big push in CA to allow independents to vote on the primary ballot.

There's good arguments on both sides.

As a practical matter, however, allowing the "independent" registered voter access to the Republican primary opens the door to a lot of mischief.

Maybe like this?

I see what you mean...But this system sure did paint the Republican Party in California into a corner this time...

In circling the wagons to somewhat ensure no shinanigans could be played inside the party, all the liberals had to do was pander and have everyone show up...numbers meaning nothing of course to them, yet incredibly important to the Republican party that shot itself in the foot this time apparently...

This San Diego county Republican voted absentee. And yes, for Romney.

I hope you know that California does not count absentee ballots unless the registrar of voters believs there is a statistical chance they could change the outcome. Which, in California, means they only count them if they could put a Dem over the top.

As for provisional ballots, well, their too stiff for toilet paper so you might as well just tear them up right at the polling place.

Why are they doing this?

Because they can. Our election process is broken. The politicians like it that way.

When going to the polls you should have to have a Drivers license and a Voter ID showing party affiliation.

All primaries should be closed to all but party members.

There should be no "delegates". Who WE vote for should get the nod.

Anyone caught tampering with the process in any way goes to prison for a long time.

I don't understand. What would be the motive to change someone's affiliation from GOP to Independent? If someone changed mine for example and I couldn't vote, it would have zero effect on Democrats and someone trying to effect the results of the GOP primary wouldn't have a clue what candidate they would be helping or hurting.

San Diego county polled heavily in favor of Romny before the election. McCain won the county by about 5,000 votes, and the state by about 180,000.

At least in San Diego, this could well have cost Romny the vote and SD's delegates. Same for Orange county from what I hear. The numbers of those that had their party affiliation changed in SD alone could be in the tens of thousands. Statewide, who knows?

Democrats are reporting a very high turn out, while the Republicans, apparantly, stayed home. Every republican I know went to vote and was very animated to do so.

Those that went, only to find they could not vote Republican because their affiliation had been changed had to choose an alternate ballot in order to vote for even the propositions. Many chose to use a Democrat ballot.

The turn out differentials are large enough to indicate that McCain very well might have lost to Romny if this had not happened. Conservative talk show hosts all over the state have received hundreds of calls and e-mails from outraged republican voters.

Do the math.

The numbers of outraged Republicans calling and e-mailing into radio stations accross the state is far too large.

Coplaints to state agencines is through the roof, but the registrars offices and the Secretarry of State are steadfastly maintaing there have been no shenanigans and that nothing is out of order. But the State Republican party said they are going to thoroughly investigate this.

They need to throw OUT the California Republican primary, rescedule a new date and allow any disenfranchised Republican voter to get registered in time for such, and then have a new vote... any time the sanctity of the ballot is tainted, it becomes null and void.

This was not a case of the party shooting itself in the foot. This is vote fraud, plain and simple.

In a Primary, you want party people making the decisions, not independents, or (as happens in CA), illegals trying to skew results.

Someone called into the Rick Roberts show today and says he figured out haw this could have been done via the internet. He has reported it and actually demonstrated it. Supposedly it will be investigated.

It appears that there are websites that allow you to change your party affiliation by entering your name and phone number (which must be correct). You then get to print a PDF form which you continue to fill out by hand and send in. The remaining information on the form can be made up. And although the registrars office is suppode to chack all the info, as well as the signitures, the likelyhood they actually do, is minimal.

However it happened, there is fraud going on here. And in all likelyhood, the voter roll information has been compromised. People working in the registrars offices may have done this.

Democrats may even have done this to prevent Republican from crossing over to try and pick their candidate. Who knows.

And I hope they do investigate.

But after the 2000 election, I have a right to be suspicious.

This COULD BE a push from the open primary advocates.
