You may have noticed a number of stories recently about undersea cables getting cut around the world. Apparently the total is now up to 5, but the scariest part of this is that Iran is now offline. You can also read Schneier's comments on this coincidence.
Ah. I was wondering if we were starting to clog over here. Perhaps it's just FR. I'll check a couple of other sites to make sure.
Agreed.
Or it could be tactical.
Or it could be accidental. (Not likely.)
Something's going on, though. We're right next door to Iran and so far, so good here.
What does radar systems have to do with cutting underwater cables? You doubt the Iranians subs can go to 200 feet and take out a cable laying on the bottom?
Regards
Allah is not happy with muzzl’ems using the internet, the degenerate tool of the infidel. He is cutting th cables.
Fiber lines. Could be someone installing a middle device to tap the lines which would require a cut -or several to spoof the device’s location.
Just kidding!
Come on guy...Photoshop some scissors or a big knife in his hand
They have at least two Kilo Class subs capable of sending out divers plus that funny looking one they build last year. I am sure they could do it if they wanted to.
The question is why they would want to.
IF, and I say IF it was us tapping cables we would not have cut them and make people notice it. There are ways of tapping those cables that do not involve cutting it open, we used those on the Soviets and they never found out until a cable got cut by accident IIRC.
And,yes,I doubt that the Iranians are capable of cutting lines at 200 feet, buried in the sea floor, without detection,to only those lines mentioned,in waters other than their own coast. They can't even get a rocket out of earth's atmosphere for goodness sake.Other countries have been doing this since the 50's.Yet,you think they can send a diver to 200 feet, undetected in heavily patrolled waters,in the darkness of 200 feet of seawater, and cut lines with precision?
You sound like the media during the first Gulf War when they were saying the US would suffer massive casualties at the hands of "battle hardened Iraqis".Don't give Iran that much credit. They certainly don't deserve it.
Your right Syria isn’t on that list. Neither is Lebanon.
Well... what the HELL could be going on? Oh, I don’t know... maybe the US Navy SEALS are practicing.....
I can only HOPE that’s what’s happening :)
Let’s just give this a name, shall we?
“Prelude to an Interlude” — perhaps those who know a little about music, and shows, might grasp that meaning.
Tell you what. I gave you more credit than you deserve. You started out doubting they even had subs. If you just wanna play graba$$ don’t post to me.
Neither is Jordan.
But none of those are Gulf nations.
The list covers almost every Gulf Nation.
There are no coincidences.
But China does, and they’ve already proven that they can move about undetected...thanks to WJC selling them the technology for campaign contributions. I’ll bet China is the culprit!
I don’t know how one would tap into fiber cables. I can understand standard copper cables, though. Like the ones we tapped leading to the Soviet Naval Base (Murmansk maybe?)
No,I didn’t say that they didn’t have subs.Reading comprehension will do wonders for you.
