I wrote this for the weekend, but since I'll be on the road on Friday and this is extremely timely, I'm posting this now.

Now as you’re more or less honorable, I think as a big boy this is a cookie crumble. The real cry should be why winner take all.

Excellent article. While some defend the actions of Huckabee, back room deals do not speak well for a persons character. Deals made, debts owed. Just the kind of things that make politics more about who you know and who you owe than how this country can best be served. Wasn’t surprised by either man in their mutual love fest because that is just what I’d expect from McCain and confirms my intuition about Huckabee He exudes the same vibes as Bill Clinton.

Thanks for laying that out so clearly. Sadly all that is clear is that we’ve taken being dishonest from the back room to the front parlor!

Okay, I’m no fan of McCain, but is this something illegitimate, or is this just politics?

Huckabee's dirt from now on as far as I'm concerned. He'll never win another public office. He's sold his soul to McCain just to stick it to Romney. He hates Romney (the rich boy) more than he hates McCain.

But, what else is new in politics? Deals have been made in back rooms for generations. I just hope that McCain comes to the realization that he cannot win against Hitlery or Obama without the conservative vote and, somehow, Fred Thompson or some other REAL conservative (Newt?) has some influence at the convention. McCain would look more attractive to me if Fred was his running mate--NOT the Huckster. Like I said, he's dirt.
