I’m not going to decide whether to jump ship until McCain names his VP. If it’s someone I would have supported for President, I will probably go with McCain on the Chuck Norris theory that you’re really voting for McCain’s VP to be President.

Can you say, "Welcome President Hillary"?
Its going to happen.

You have a high tolerance for pain. Good luck with that.

Why does a VP matter? The VP has no power. A McCain VP put there to somehow appease some people is meaningless.
McCain will make sure his VP is powerless.

Yes probably.
Any constructive ideas?

I concur Brilliant; I’m certain that McCain will be forced to pick a strong and young conservative for the bottom of the ticket. The big question is who could it be. I anticipate that most conservatives, who say they won’t vote for McCain, may change their minds and vote for the bottom of the ticket instead of the top of the ticket. BUT, McCain will have to be smart enough to pick a solid conservative...someone like John Thune or ???

I’m with you. I will even vote McCain if he picked Huckabee if Hillary is nominated by the Dems. If Obama gets the nod and its McCain/Huckabee I will be hoping for a 3rd party candidate. The same goes if if he picks Lindsey Graham.

True, but he’s an old guy who suffered a lot physically. His VP choice is thus very important.

So? McCain is not in the greatest of health. He has fought pretty bad cancer already. His VP is important.

There is indeed no where to go for the conservatives of America. I am sorely disappointed but I have believed for years now that the GOP would follow after the Marxist left wing of America as the years went on and so they have. History teaches us that as things get older they tend to corruption, atrophy and anarchy and history always repeats itself.
The conservative voter has been handed their hats and put out of the GOP, the GOP has abandoned the principles of conservatism and has become Marxist lite.
It may be time for a third party conservative movement, much as you can not clean up a barrel of rotten apples but must destroy it and start again, so it is with conservatives at this point of time.

This isn’t a panicky thing I posted. It’s been a long time coming- since 1994 in fact.
Face it- this thing is over. We need to LOOK FOWARD NOW.

McCain will make sure his VP is powerlessAbsolutely, this is about John McCain and only John McCain. he will never share the stage or put anyone in a position to upstage him with coherent thought or action.
With the Clintons you get two, with McCain you get two, too...Johnny and his Ego, they are already legacy building.

I have been pondering this also and have not been able to get wrapped around it yet.
I changes my party affiliation a few years ago to the “Constitution Party” in protest.
Beyond that, I see no clear alternative for conservatives.
I am now seriously considering covering my assets to protect them from upcoming oppressive tax increases (theft) as I am nearing retirement and don’t want to lose it.
I will not vote for any of the present candidates.

I will vote for McCain even though Ive posted here and said that I cant? Why? The only issue that matters is keeping the savages at bay. If we dont do that, we wont have a country at all. If John McCain is the nominee, I will gladly vote for him because I believe he will nuke the savages if needed.
Beyond that, Ill continue to work for the conservative cause, and keep hope alive for my children.
I will not let any president, especially a democrat president define who I am, ever. I lived through Carter, I lived through Clinton, I can live through the worst they have to throw at us.
Lets not screw ourselves by sitting out the election in November.

I am closely watching FR for that exact reason. I’m just watching for information on where to go.
I will not, under ANY circumstances, ever vote for McCain. Yesterday, when he lied about Romney denigrating Bob Dole’s military service was the final straw that convinced me that the man is NO DIFFERENT than Hillary. He will lie at the drop of a hat.
Ann Coulter has been vindicated... McCain is too stupid to figure out that he has been caught in another lie.
I someone comes up with a conservative migration ping list, I’d like to be on it.
