McCain dominates as Clinton and Obama trade states

WASHINGTON — Arizona Sen. John McCain took command of the Republican presidential campaign with primary and caucus victories from one coast to the other Tuesday, but New York Sen. Hillary Clinton and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama swapped a patchwork of victories, leaving both Democrats claiming momentum in the bid for their party's nomination.
Because Democrats distribute delegates in proportion to their vote statewide and in individual congressional districts, it appeared neither Democrat would emerge from their 22-state Super Tuesday contest with enough national convention delegates to claim the party's nomination.

It seems like our political system is corrupt. Is it that people simply do not research the qualifications of candidates? John McCain is an American hero because he survived being a POW for five years; and he dedicated his life to government service. But that does not make him a statesman or, IMO, qualified to serve as our President? He seems like an opportunist; he seems unstable because of his occasional outbursts. Did he insult the relatives of our missing in action servicemen? While he had good intentions in connection with campaign finance reform, granting amnesty, was he blinded by his intentions and unable to see the folly of such action? The more I learn about this man, the less I support him as our President.
The South went in a big way voting of Huckabee - and that is why McCain has pretty much won the nomination at this point. Literally, the Huckabee voters handed the primary to McCain. Thanks a lot to a bunch of Southern Bible thumpers for giving us McCain. This will be my reply to all these questions about how McCain won. It is obvious as the weight Huckabee is starting to gain back on his tummy why McCain won. All I need to do is copy and paste this reply into every posting asking the question about McCain. Look to the South. They voted Huckabee, and thus gave us McCain. I guess some of those good ol’ boys down there figure that “all ‘dem Mor-Moms is sinners”. Gosh, well thank you good ol’ boys, and let’s all salute John McCain on his victory and figure out the excuses on why we “like” McCain - it’s either that or try and convince John McCain to the conservative side. It isn’t impossible, actually, because he cannot win the General without the conservatives. Sure, we are hearing talk about Huckabee being his V.P. running mate - wanna’ wager McCain doesn’t pick Huckabible? Anyway, thanks to all ya’ll in the Dixie swamp for givin’ us McCain by voting for Huckabee, after all, you got to stick to your conscious and all, but I sure don’t want to hear from some of you how you “Don’t Like McCain” because you did it to us, so you better get ready and say “I Salute John McCain” or you will be having the butch sisters appointed by the Dem President coming down there and chasing you for all your guns and all your taxes and all your bibles and even your Jesus. Thanks, and good luck John McCain in your race against the Democratic nominee.
Let me just copy and paste this into any of them “Huckabee carries the South” sort of postings.
Can you really say President Clinton again? The story about how the W88 nuclear warhead design ended up in China is enough to keep me voting against Satan.

It is surprising how major news networks have such discrepancies. FoxNews/AP says for the Dems 2,026 are needed to win, whereas CNN and RealClearPolitics say 2,205. Also, their delegate counts vary by nearly 50 for some candidates.

Actually, the "Bible Thumpers" did even worse, they tried to give us Huckabee, which believe me, would be far worse than McCain...

A truly legitimate third party is what's needed. Such a party could take control of our evil, socialistic central government and weaken the stranglehold that the DemocRATs and RINOs have on our lives.
I thought I heard that McCain has carried exactly 1 Red State primary/caucus in this campaign. Is that true?
I have started the Real Republican Party but you can’t join. The only Real Republicans are the ones that agree with me 100% of the time and the I’m the only one that does that. I have the answers to everything but they are secret.
No. He won in both South Carolina and Florida prior to "Super Tuesday", both states having voted Republican in 2000 and 2004.
Your attempt at taking his position to a wild extreme to try to destroy it is noted.
All of the three candidates now have significant problems, and that’s a fact. This is a weak field of Republican candidates. Te leader for the GOP nomination is a very liberal Republican, essentially a warmed over democrat. If elected, McCain will drive the GOP increasingly to the left. For true conservatives, that is repulsive and alternative options should be considered.
We have to face the facts.
Romney is not appealing to voters! The man has purchased the most advertising and has striven to create the best organization. He has enlisted the neo-con talking heads. Never the less, voters have chosen to support McCain and Huckabee.
You can debate why this is so but you can’t deny that it is so. We (and Romney) have to accept reality.
Unless he has health problems, McCain will be the nominee. The question is: who will be his VP?
