the fair tax will be as easily avoided as the 1991 luxury tax.

Huckster is just pushing it for the people also easily fooled by shiny metal objects...

rearranging the initials of the IRS to SIR and allowing your rebate to come monthly instead of annually is nutz.

I fail to see the upside.

Imagine Dems casmpaigning to double the prebate and calling the GOP meanspirited for opposing it

I think the reality is that while Southern Evangelicals would rather not put McCain in the White House, they will not put a Mormon in their either.

I work on staff at our local Foursquare Gospel church, and while a LOT of people I’ve talked to really like Romney, they have real problems with him because he is a Mormon... that’s just the facts.

Unfortunately for Huckleberry he can’t win outside of the South. His openly evangelical language really turn off a LOT of people outside of the South.

Yancy

Tonight has not doomed Romney. What tonight has done is taken the wind out of McCain’s sales which will effectively give the American voters who have yet to vote in the GOP primary the opportunity to learn that McCain is a RINO.

I’m not advocating the Fair Tax. I don’t even think it merits consideration. Congress would never allow it. There are too many special interests represented in the current tax code. This is probably the 4th time I’ve stated this - and the last. I do get your message: you don’t like it!

Well when Huckleberry drops out in a couple of weeks, McCain will certainly have enough delegates at that point (assuming Huckleberry gives him those delegates, which is a virtual certainty).

I want a tax cut. FairTax is not.

I want less complication. FairTax is not

I want no rebates, (over collection). FairTax makes that worse and tries to make it a virtue. we are supposed to want a plan where gov takes our money and allows us some back.

no thanks.

the slogan about dumping the IRS is pointless, there WILL be an agency collecting it and they will have the power of force. Its name is irrelevent

If Mitt can’t beat Huckabee and McCain in the GOP primary, what makes you think he can win in the general election?

Romney doesn’t sell in the South because he is patronizing, fake.

Is that why Slick Willie did so well in the south?

There will be NO FAIR TAX. Folks, the feds won’t cut off their own arm! The very idea of abolishing the IRS would NEVER pass either House or Senate.

AGAIN: In the Words of Bush 41, “Read my lips...” I’m not advocating the Fair Tax. Tell this to Niel Bortz!

actually does ANYONE have information about the campaign spending limits on huckabee and mccain. it was reported mccain is near his limits and he can’t get more until AFTER the RNC convention.

McCain accepted public money to stay afloat.

Huckabee did but he has no money to be matched.

IOW they could both be financially DOA after today.

The news announcer at the top of the hour just led off the stories by announcing that McCain won Atlanta!

Unbelievable.

Right. Because having to report your every financial transaction to the government, and a tax code designed to promote approved social policy isn’t socialist at all.
