McCain is getting Independents and Moderates who only watch TV for their information, along with Democrats who didn’t care for Hillary or Obama. Huckabee is getting the votes of church goers who only listen to evangelical groups like the AFA and their pastors.

It seems quite clear that conservative blogs are not a very good indicator of how Republican primary voters will vote.

Perhaps conservatives have overestimated their own influence.

IMO, the folks who are voting for McCain have gotten sick of "conservatives" and their single-issue antics. Conservatives might want to learn from their mistakes -- but many or most will not.

Anti-McCain is one thing.

But his competition is a Baptist preacher and a Massachusetts liberal.

There was no one to rally around. Liberal Romney was DOA, he won his home states and a few small caucuses.

I don't get it either. There can't be that many 'conservatives' that want amnesty, higher taxes, and limits to speech. Are they so blinded by thinking 'we have to beat Hillary at all costs' that they'll elect another liberal with remarkably the same positions as Hillary?

Most conservative talkshow hosts were also lambasting McCain and from what I heard there were very few callers I heard for McCain, guess people feel McCain can be trusted, the other two are imposters but like you it's seems strange to me, I guess McCain supporters don't visit blogs or listen to talkradio, stick a fork in her America's done.

The Republican Party is dead until 2016 and that is the truth. There is no base of social, economic and political/security conservatives that is united.

The McCaniac Liberals in the country clubs totally manipulated and divided the conservative vote. The Dems will add big numbers of House and Senate seats. There will be a big win 08, a landslide in 2012 and a political realignment like we haven’t seen since 80 with Reagan. But this time it is favoring the Dems again. The Party blew it - it’s over for 8 years.
