LIVE THREAD II
Honestly, I feel there is just too much infighting within our own party. And it hurts. Romney saying Huckabee is stealing his votes. Heck, the way its turned out tonite it looks like its the other way around.
McCain was the big loser tonight.
He’s losing all the southern states to Huckabee, who is the big winner tonight. I think a Romney/Huckabee ticket is materializing tonight.
You didn't realize FR is a fishbowl? We represent only a small section of the GOP and the US.
My second guess was the house mother on “Facts of Life.”
FoxNews: Utah for Romney & Obama
What does that mean? South West, Short-White, Single-White, Seemingly witty, Seriously wealthy, Slowly wilting, Super wonk, Some Won (waits for me), etc.?
For all you folks who think a 3rd party isn’t viable, check your history books again. The GOP started out as a 3rd party ultimately defeating and putting the Whig party into the dust bin of history. A viable 3rd party can happen — the GOP’s existence proves that.
good question.....
Romney/Huckster? Kidding, right?
I would vote for Hillary or Obama over any ticket with The Huckster/Hickabee on it.
Reagan could be on top of the ticket with Hickabee as the VP and my vote goes to Hill or Bama.
And so speaking of Hillary.....
....lets revisit for a moment the spectre of her possible election.
First, the woman DID vote FOR the war in Iraq no mind her speaking out of both sides of her mouth now that the Moonbat wing of her party should vote for her.
Hill knows that her previous administration played fiddle a little too long whilst Rome burned and Im not convinced the Hill will just up and pull the troops. I think shed make a better CIC then...well than Obama, for one. Im not convinced McCain would be better than her because if no ones mentioned it yet, this man has a horrific temper. He scares people, Im serious. Yes, the Hill has a temper but McCain makes her look like a piker.
So...supreme court nominees? Well whos going to be up to retire? Stevens? Ginsberg? Well these two are so liberal already that even if Hill should appoint liberals to replace, how is this worse? Conservative issues are squeaking through now. The Court might not get any better but Id argue it wont get worse. Oh, and dont forget that the fine, even-tempered McCain said he thought Alito wore his conservatism on his sleeve. What the hell does that mean?
Social issues? What...Ive not seen any amazing passion by McCain on the issue of abortion. Lets not forget the man voted AGAINST tax cuts ..for the rich. Hes got Schwarz...Crist and a bunch of other libs in the tank for him and hell owe them. Any diff between the Hill and McCain on these matters is almost null.
Finally, IF Hill beats McCain, the pubbies in congress will have gotten a message. For I think the concept of conservatives across the fruited plains sitting this election out or voting for Micky Mouse will be widely known by the time McCain loses. thus the senators and reps will know the message. Conservatives in this country might not be a majority (although I think they are, far more than the lib media likes to present), we are a damn formidable group and on occasions, like the non-herding cats we are, we get it into our heads that weve had enough. A President Hillary would have to plow through that chastised Republican congress.
If conservatives swallow one more time and vote for this totally unpalatable John McCain, he of the fine even temper, this country will go liberal and will never go back.
John McCain and his so-called Republican enablers, helped by the libs who would rather have had the Hill but can live with McCain, will be emboldened as never before.
Its my argument and Im sticking to it.
This proves something.
The Northeast is full of liberal rascists.
He’s an OUTSIDER, ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT republican.
Or rather the establishment is ANTI-Romney, and that’s reason alone to vote for him.
The GOP is awash in gay and financial scandals just dying to break, and they’re painfully aware Mitt would clean that crap right out of the party.
The GOP has turned into trailer trash somehow.
Agreed completely. Huck is a tool.
I just returned from the Republican caucus in my small Minnesota town. The mayor, who acted as convener, says it was the largest turnout he’s seen in his 44 years of attending caucuses. I’d say close to 200 people turned out. He was expecting 50 or less. Romney won the straw vote at our caucus which I expected because it’s fairly conservative area.
Our local conservative talk station is broadcasting live and is reporting overflow crowds at Republican caucuses across the state.
No, You guys are my world. Tell me it isn’t true that there are bad liberals out there ready to steal my money and take my children’s minds and health care!!
I think there will be lots of new Indeoendents this year. Just not the kind that vote for McCain.
But it won't be my fault or others like me: it will be the fault of those who *settled* for someone instead of backing their principles. And I blame every person who jumped on the RINO wagons early in this race without even considering the good conservatives out there.
You get what you settle for. And that will be McCain- but ultimately Hillary or Obama.
McCain and Huckabee are bigger winners than Romney. And remember Paul is still hanging there getting five percent of the vote.
if huck wins big enough it could be a Huckabee/McCain ticket.....LOL - wouldn’t it be rich if WV was the winning diff for Huckabee? LOL
The fees included such “optional” things as yearly vehicle licensing fees as I understand.
