“I listen to Romney and he’s just so straight, clear, intelligent and focused. By comparison, McCain and Huckabee are just so completely idiotic.”

Excellent post...Now if the clueless ones at the RNC could only see it the same way...

People that know Mitt vote for him. People that don’t know him bash him. Why is that?

Well, as much as I like Roberts and Alito they weren’t worth the fragmenting of the party. Bush has been a disaster and I foolishly voted for him twice.

Why wouldn't Romney just cut out the middle man and endorse McCain?

Are you hinting that the Huck might just be doing the bidding of McCain in this election?

If so, what makes YOU think that the Huck wouldn't stab McCain in the back and take the White House for himself if he is given the opportunity by Romney? Do you think the Huck is too honorable a man to stab McCain in the back?

Case closed!!

bottom line with Romney he is a RINO like the two remaining contenders and he would do horrible in red states in November.

Take Missouri for example ... about 80% of the vote in on both sides ...

Hillary Clinton has managed to get around 300K to come out and vote for her. Obama has managed to get 273K to come out and vote for him. Romney, who spend time and resources there, has managed to get 132K to come out and support him.

The numbers for Republicans in general are very alarming and Romney’s are horrible (considering all the resources he poured in). He would be a disaster in November. States like Ohio, Missouri, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Florida, etc. decide elections. Romney hasn’t show any strengths in states like that and may lose states that Republicans usually win as well.

Romney has wins in MA, MN, MT, ND, UT and has a decent chance to win in:

AK: LAST POLLS CLOSE 12:30 A.M.
CO: Romney 49% McCain 25% (8% reporting)
CA: LAST POLLS CLOSE 11:00 P.M.

With hucks success, Romney could still win the most states of any candidate tonight!

Bush has taken it to these terrorists...took over 2 countries and is now chasing them into Pakistan. We should be proud of him...and these candidates should defend him and his decisions!

And McCain and Huckabee should just get out now so we can all just place an x by Romney.

Isn’t there still some twenty some states left to vote in the US?

Neither has this locked up. They will finish the night within a few delegates of each other, guaranteeing the fight goes on for a long, long time. Simple mathematics. Unless one of them has a complete meltdown (whoch may happen), neither candidate can get to the magic number during the primaries.

The Deomcrats are shaping up for a brokered convention because of their decision to allocate delegates proportionally.

Sounds like evangelicals have big plans? Quick question. How did Bush work out? He passed your “requirements” with flying colors but ended up destroying the GOP with his excessive spending and compassionate conservatism? Look I admire evangelicals and consider them allies in this battle against the forces of mindless secularism but some of you need to stop looking at things from only specific vantage point.

How did Bush work out? Very well. Bush is a great president -- something that alot of people on FR have forgotten. He defeated Saddam Hussein, cut taxes, appointed two conservatives to the Supreme Court and has increased the size of our armed forces to Reagan-era levels. Whats not to like about Bush?

“Missing W and Cheney GREATLY .. already
started. It will be a sad, sad day for me.”

I know I’ll be crying when I see Dubya and Laura walk down the steps of the Capitol and board Marine 1.

I’ll never, ever forget the image of Reagan saluting Bush 41 from the door of Marine 1. I still get emotional just thinking about it. As Reagan and Nancy flew over the WH on their way to Andrews Air Force base, Reagan said, “Look, Honey, there’s our little bungalow.”

RIP Gipper!
