The HPV virus now causes as many cancers of the upper throat as tobacco and alcohol, probably due both to an increase in oral sex and the decline in smoking, researchers say.So people are smoking less, therefore HPV is causing more throat cancer.
Sounds to me as if some cancers were being blamed on smoking because it was politically convenient. Who would have thought?

Plenty of straight people get HPV. You can use your imagination to figure out how a straight man in a relationship with a straight woman could get HPV or be at a higher risk for penile or oral cancers.
