HI, Kathy.

at one point in my career i was on the full-time military staff at Camp Mabry. it was/IS a GREAT place to be stationed!!!

plus, the nicest Tex-Mex restaurant i've ever been to is nearby = LA FONDA SAN MIGUEL. (i can wholeheartedly recommend the food, as i've eaten "more than plenty" of the dishes = CHUCKLE!)

War Between the States - An exhibit depicting the role of Texas in the War Between the States is presented by pictures, uniforms, weapons and biographies of various confederate officers who had distinct ties to the Lone Star State during that period of time. Flags of the 10th Cavalry are on display, along with mannequins dressed in period uniforms with equipment. In addition, state flags of the Confederate States as they were in 1867 are displayed as well as a diorama depicting the Charge of the Texas Brigade at the Battle of the Wilderness, May 6, 1864, in Virginia. Soon to be added is a diorama of the Battle of Palmitto Ranch, which was fought and won by Texans in May of 1865. It was the last battle of the War Between the States.

Ah, food, that most necessary of evils...

It’s going below freezing, they’re predicting about 24*F for an overnight low. I just looked outside, and the roof of the truck is covered with ice crystals.

Same storm channels. Some of the plants managed to grab some of the rain and have turned pretty shades of green. :-D
