Jim Warner was one of the first three POWs to support the Swift Vets in 2004 (the others were Paul Galanti and Ken Cordier). He stated that his interrogators in Hanoi showed him John Kerry's Senate testimony as proof that the American prisoners should be treated as war criminals. I also worked with Jim later when he was a director of the Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation.
While Jim doesn't have or claim to have perfect knowledge of what John McCain did in North Vietnam, I believe that what he does have to say is true.

The McCain deranged are not satisfied with criticism of his political record. These pitiful people feel they must destroy a young Naval Aviator who resisted his captors and refused early release.

I’m sure that everything Jim Warner said is true based on his own knowledge of McCain, but that was after McCain was put in with the other POWs. Before that, McCain was kept separate from the other POWs for 2+ years.
