Hillary Clinton cries in Connecticut (On Drudge)
Swamp Politics ^ | Feb. 04, 2008 | by Jason George

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sen. Hillary Clinton teared up this morning at an event at the Yale Child Study Center, where she worked while in law school in the early 1970s.

A doctor, who was introducing Clinton, began to choke up, leading Clinton's eyes to fill with tears, which she wiped out of her left eye. At the time, the doctor was saying how proud he was that sheepskin-coat, bell-bottom-wearing young woman he met in 1972 was now running for president.

"Well, I said I would not tear up; already we're not exactly on the path," Clinton said with emotion after the introduction.

Clinton is holding a roundtable discussion with Connecticut women to talk about childcare and healthcare.

When Clinton got misty-eyed at an event in New Hampshire on Jan. 7, politicos and pundits filled hours discussing if it helped her, and Clinton eventually pointed to the moment as when she "found her voice" and turned the corner in the Granite State.

At the time, there was much debate if the candidate's emotional response to a question -- "How do you do it?"" -- was genuine or calculated.

Let the conversation begin again...

Oh, go cry emo-candidate. Then write some crappy angst-ridden poetry, why don’t you?

I haven’t the words to express how disgusted I am by this woman.

“She cried...” - oh good grief.

Because the tears trick works only once and I am not sure it worked the first time and it were the tears who brought her victory in New Hampshire. She was head by double digit in New Hampshire until Friday after the Iowa caucus then polls came that weekend saying Obama is ahead, there is no guarantee what so ever that these polls were accurate because they were taken mostly during a weekend and they did not figure out that most colleague students were on vacation during New Hampshire primary.

Hillary Clinton victory in new Hampshire was greatly overrated. There is 90% chance that she will be the democrats nominee but no one expected her to fight tooth and nail for it, fight it so dirty, and divide her party into different faction, they all expected easy coronation, this did not happen for sure.

Ya think if Bill were to give her a shiner she could lock up the abused woman vote too?

She might be holding back on that for the election, though.

Yep. The dictators of China, North Korea, Iran, Syria, etc. will be really touched when Hillary is President and she tears up during negotiations.

Alma Mater Welcomes Coughing Clinton
by Aaron Bruns

Hillary Clinton returned to her old law school on the day before Super Tuesday, holding a roundtable discussion on health care and the economy at the Yale Child Study Center.

A doctor who once worked with Cinton on campus, Penn Rhodes, remembered when a young Hillary turned up decked out in purple and wearing bell bottoms. “You looked so 1972,” he joked.

But his serious expression of pride in Sen Clinton’s accomplishments hit home for Hillary.

“I said I would not tear up,” she said after Rhodes’ intrduction. “Already we’re not exactly on that path.”

The emotional moment recalled the now-famous incident at a similar roundtable in Portsmouth, NH the day before the New Hampshire primary. Clinton won the stae by two points, completing a remarkable comeback that many observers attributed to that glimpse of the senator’s human side.

This time, though, it wasn’t Clinton’s crying but her coughing that dominated the event. Though she insisted last night on her plane that she’s feeing fine, a string of long days on the campaign trail have led to a scratchy voice and a cough that comes and goes. In the midde of today’s event, it came in a big way. 5 aides rushed out of the room to fetch a lozenge as she struggled to control the cough — asking the participants at the tale to continue.

But as she always does, Sen Clinton recovered to make the case for her health care plan and explain her ideas to fix the housing crisis.

(snip)

I don’t think it’s a bad strategy at all for an Oprah-ized nation. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her cry during a debate in the general election if her opponent asks her a challenging question.

Did she ever cry about over the woman killed by the Black Panthers she was expressing sympathy for back in 1970?

A doctor, who was introducing Clinton, began to choke up

Penn Rhodeen, a New Haven public interest lawyer who worked with Clinton as a student, recalled her showing up on his doorstep wearing purple bellbottoms.

Hillary cried the day before the New Hampshire vote and again the day before Super Tuesday.

She’ll do the same thing the first Monday in November.

The Irony is rich. Oprah creates a mass of brain-dead emotional females, then supports Obama (for O’s own purposes, I believe). But Hillary uses that against her.

Yep! This is the most horrible election in my lifetime. It’s pretty apparent that the dumbing-down process that began in the sixties has reached full bloom.

Yikes! No adult should wear that shade of yellow unless they are working as a school crossing guard on a rainy day.

BoooooooHoooooooo! Somebody nominate the Hildebeast for the Kathleen Blanco (former Gov. of Louisiana) Award. Maybe the better option is to nominate the Beast for an Oscar for her ability to cry on cue.

What is so pathetic is that there are so many suckers in the American electorate that will fall for this phony baloney nonsense.

The tears and the cleavage have touched my heart. If she’s good enough for swillin’ vodka with John “Cotton Hill” McCain; she’s good enough for me.

Next time she’ll have two black eyes and file a restraining order against Bill Clinton.

“Next time she’ll have two black eyes and file a restraining order against Bill Clinton.”

If she gets the nomination and things look bad going into the election, I wouldn’t be surpised if she announced she was divorcing Slick. Especially if it was clear he was bringing down her numbers.
