Insanity on FR (Vanity)
2/2/08 | tomnbeverly

The Insanity that has taken over on this forum, when it comes to the potential GOP nominees, is bordering on Psychotic.

1. John McCain and Mitt Romney are both good and decent men.

2. Either one being the GOP nominee is a far cry better then the Surrender Monkeys on the other side.

I only ask that we do not stray into that Liberal arena of Personal destruction. I have listened to Sean and Rush and I blame them for engaging this tactic in our party.

We should never have to tear one candidates record down to promote the other. For that reason alone Ronald Reagan would be turning over in his grave.

Of course you are right. McCain is actually more conservative record wise than Huck or Romney. None are great. Imagine a world where the Clintons have no power.

Ann Coulter says that she will support Hillary over McCain. Ok, Coulter also lacks a functional brain.

No. He isn’t even half right. McCain isn’t honorable either - just by comparison to Romney.

Which of us is the real Conservative?

Real conservatives will recognize that McCain is an absolute disaster, and that the Republican party treats conservatives like the Democrat party treats blacks. We always wonder why blacks stick with a party that treats them so badly; guess conservatives who will stick with the Republican party come what may ought to look in the mirror.

If I recall correctly McCain was against the tax cuts and for the illegal alien fiasco.

If this country has no option but to flounder in the abyss of liberal theology, there is no sense in having a RINO at the helm to have the blame assigned to Republicans.

I did not leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me.

If these Republicans don't like the criticism of the media, they run for cover when the Hounds of the Holy chase them... they lack the courage to stand up. They would rather reach across the isle and submit to the Progressive formula for America, so called, in the name of unity. I am an unreconstructed conservative. I will not vote for McCain. The Republican party abandoned me.

You see you have to use personal attacks against McCain... Why? You can’t just say... I like Romney better because....

No you have to say McCain is mentally unbalanced as if you are qualified to make that assessment...

Lemming.

“If Mitt wins I vote for Mitt and throw all my support behind him

If McCain wins ... Ditto...

Which of us is the real Conservative?”

Neither.

I agree with you.

Conservatives have no leadership and thus, have nothing to complain about.

We are now a minor wing in the GOP party and need to regroup and reorganize, but maintain what influence we can while in the Party.

If McCain wins, it does no good to attack him, when we are going to have to work with him.

He might even put a conservative on the VP slot, to reunite the Party.

Conservatives have a inclination of being short sighted and that is why we do so poorly in elections.

I disagree.

To some, anything but slavish devotion to their candidate is seen as "tearing down."

I will put this as succinctly as I can: imagine that for whatever reason there *IS* no Republican candidate this year.

Your choice is between two Democrats, Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

If you allow the former to win, *you* are the one who is insane...

Bwahahahahaha

Seems Tom, or Beverly have become frustrated.

I suppose that is to be expected when you don't have a few "good men", and are trying to convince yourself to continue to play party games, while holding your nose.

Don’t you think you have better odd of winning the battle whan you at least have a dog in the race?

If the Republicans lose this election.. Your gonna get some change alright and your Conservative positions will go the route of the Libertarians...

Is that what you want?

Which of us is the real Conservative?

It doesn't matter which of you is. The fact is, the masters of FreeRepublic bashed George Bush in 1999-2000 like they are bashing McCain now. (Well, maybe not so acridly). But when push came to shove, Bush was the man and has been for the last 8 years. You daren't say much bad about Bush lest you be banned, eh? So it will be if McCain carries the GOP mantle.

Sorry, Charlie.

There is no mass hysteria on the part of THIS FReeper.

I have said since McLame declared that he was running (again), that h3ll would freeze over prior to him receiving my vote. And, yes, I would rather that Hitlery or Hussein were elected rather than seeing that scuzball McLame in the WH.

And, no, that does not mean I am taking the Coulter approach...but it DOES mean that fear tactics on the part of 'moderate' Republican whips won't cut it.

I can only hold my nose so tight.

If it comes down to McCain and Hillary, I would have to hold my nose and vote for McCain.

Would I rather have a true conservative to vote for? Of course. But, I don’t.

And I love my country too much to allow Hildebeast to take control of it without doing what little I can to prevent that nightmare.
