Insanity on FR (Vanity)
2/2/08 | tomnbeverly

Posted on 02/03/2008 4:58:36 AM PST by tomnbeverly

The Insanity that has taken over on this forum, when it comes to the potential GOP nominees, is bordering on Psychotic.

1. John McCain and Mitt Romney are both good and decent men.

2. Either one being the GOP nominee is a far cry better then the Surrender Monkeys on the other side.

I only ask that we do not stray into that Liberal arena of Personal destruction. I have listened to Sean and Rush and I blame them for engaging this tactic in our party.

We should never have to tear one candidates record down to promote the other. For that reason alone Ronald Reagan would be turning over in his grave.

John Fund has corrected himself on Mark Levin and Hugh Hewitt. He said what he wrote was taken out of context. This left Mark speechless.

Thank you for posting that.. I was just going to inform bronxboy that his point was supposition and heresay... and then ask him in turn how does Romney get a pass on evolving his abortion view... I mean apparently to get the Conservative vote you better be 100 percent pure...Right?

Perdogg you made the point of my entire post.. many are lemmings being driven off a cliff by Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh..

After McCain joined the gang of 14 which made certain some of the most qualified conservative nominees never got a vote, do you still believe McCain will choose conservative justices. He will/has sacrificed conservatism on the alter of political expediency.

However, he is fit to be president even ideologically wrong

I'm not so sure about Mitt's overall fitness for the job, but at least he APPEARS to take criticism from conservatives seriously and makes an honest attempt to satisfy their concerns. That may be just a latent talent for acting showing through, but it seems to be authentic anyway.

OTOH, McNutt's lips say one thing while his eyes, manner of speech, and overall body language give him away by saying the opposite. I'm afraid that since he's already on the verge of being too old for the office he may not be planning on a second term. Therefore, he knows that he can do whatever he wants in his first and only term without concern for needing our votes to win a second term. Given his volcanic temper and his obvious mental/emotional instability, a possible one-term mindset makes him a scary candidate for Commander in Chief of US armed forces AFAIC.

Did you see the Dem Debate?

They are gleeful that Mitt Romney is all but out of the race, and they now mock him.

If McCain takes it this Tuesday, Hillary is our next president. It is that simple.

This is John McCains last effort to destroy the GOP, and he is succeeding brilliantly.

>Wow that hurt...that EVIL PROFIT WORD. Won me over with that one. Of course the Federal Governments economic health is more important that the evil private sector. Follow up with EXXON and we will all convert to moderates. (sarcasm ON)

Profit is great, unless it is your only core conviction... like Mitt. Everything else he believes is open to adjustment as needed.

Do you really believe McCain would appoint conservative justices which would surely overturn McCain-Feingold? Dream on...

Bingo! It was going to be Mitt Romney against the Establishment the whole time. It would have been helpful if everyone could have seen it sooner.

So your position is if McCain wins the GOP nomination... That destroys the GOP because we all lose?

How insane is that!!

I have voted Repub in every election since my conversion from being a blind Dem to a Conservative Repub (thanks to Rush). I can not force myself to vote for McCain. I didn’t agree with Bush, but I liked him. I can’t stand McCain. It breaks my heart to see the Republicans pushing conservatives out of the party. I don’t see the Repubs winning this year. It’s a Dole year. He was a good guy, the choice of the Repub elite also, but was never going to win. McCain is a horrible person, and he will never win-too old and too liberal.

LOL, if tomnbeverly thinks that you’re Sean Hannity because you don’t like mccain, then we can throw this tactic back in tombeverly’s face.

Hey tomnbeverly: are you john mccain disguising yourself as a FReeper. With your focus on insanity, it’s a bit of projection on your part to see it in everyone else.

Hey, not so fast. Mitt just won in Maine, although the MSM won't talk about it and he's closing in on Georgia and either tied or leading in California depending on what poll you look at. It's not over yet!

Regardless of who you support, make sure to vote in the new FR poll:

"Which GOP presidential hopeful do you want to see win the most delegates on Super Tuesday?"

Member Opinion
Mitt Romney 76.4% 833
Ron Paul 10.7% 117
Mike Huckabee 8.1% 88
John McCain 4.8% 52
100.0% 1,090

tomnbeverly may not be as condescending as mccain, but he/she does like to insult those who disagree with him/her. Notice his/her use of the word “lemming” to describe those who disagree with him/her.

That’s true. Conservatives are just a “voting block” now, to be manipulated for the desired outcome.

Mary Matalin on MTP, just said that Romney would have won SC and other key states if Huckabee was not in the race. She had lots to say, but basically, Huckabee is the spoiler. He splits the conservative vote. Not to toot my horn, but ok, I will. I’ve been saying the same thing for a long time.:)

We’ve been had.

DEMOGRAPHICS OF IMMIGRATION AND AMNESTY

The nation’s ongoing debate over immigration generally has not focused on the effect it has on U.S. population size. Yet, increasing the nation’s total population is one of immigration’s clearest and most direct effects. Congestion, sprawl, traffic, pollution, loss of open spaces, greenhouse gas emissions, energy needs, infrastructure, etc., will be impacted by massive population growth. Using Census Bureau data, the current level of net immigration will add 105 million to the nation’s population by 2060.

· Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in net immigration of 1.25 million.

· If immigration continues at current levels, the nation’s population will increase from 302 million today to 468 million in 2060 — a 166 million (56 percent) increase. Immigrants plus their descendents will account for 105 million (63 percent) of the increase.

· The total projected growth of 167 million is equal to the combined populations of Great Britain, France, and Spain. The 105 million from immigration by itself is equal to 13 additional New York Cities.

· Net immigration has been increasing for five decades; if immigration continues to increase, it will add more than the projected 105 million by 2060 that will be added if immigration levels stay the same.

· Since 2000, 10.3 million immigrants have arrived — the highest seven-year period of immigration in U.S. history. More than half of post-2000 arrivals (5.6 million) are estimated to be illegal aliens.

· The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached a record of 37.9 million in 2007. Immigrants account for one in eight U.S. residents, the highest level in 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. Within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history.

Amnesty: The 2006 Senate amnesty bill [S. 2611] that passed but died in the House would have granted legal status to most of the 12 million illegal aliens who would then sponsor another 66 million more LEGAL IMMIGRANTS to join them thru chain migration, i.e., family reunification, for a total of 78 million new legal residents over a 20 year period in addition to current annual legal immigration levels of over 1 million.

The 2007 McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill would have expanded the number of illegal aliens receiving legal status to virtually everyone, which would result in an even greater increase in LEGAL IMMIGRANTS thru chain migration. And these huge numbers are predicated on an illegal alien population of 12 million. The numbers could be much higher, e.g., the 2005 Bear-Stearns report estimated that there are 20 million illegal aliens. Whether 12 or 20 million, amnesty would be catastrophic for this country.
