Emotions ran high as members of a small anti-war group were met with opposition, mistaken for the Kansas based radical group known as Westboro Baptist Church.
Members of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church, had planned to picket outside NAS Corpus Christi this morning. The group claims they wanted to thank God, for the January 16th helicopter crash that claimed the lives of 3 US sailors based here. The group never showed up, but hundreds of people anticipating their arrival did. An estimated crowd of more than one thousand people including riders with the Patriot Guard took to the streets with pride and patriotism in support of our nation's military.
Several police officers kept a close eye on the crowd and while they expected a peaceful demonstration, they were standing by in case things got out of hand.

I met up with a handful of my friends from the Nueces County Republican Club this morning to counter protest the planned protests by members of the infamous Wesboro Baptist Church at the front gate of the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. There were people lined up on both sides of the street for a half mile between the freeway and the police line. Channel 6 KRIS said there were 3,000 counter protesters, but Channel 3 KIII said there were over 1,000. There were hundreds if not thousands of American Flags lining both sides of the street, and at least a couple of hundred motor cycles (mostly Harley Davidsons) parked along the street.
There were rumors that a van with members of Westboro Baptist Church had been spotted stuck in traffic (caused by late arriving counter protesters). Anyway for whatever reason they never showed their ugly faces. I'm proud that South Texans scared off those cowards.
There's a video at the linked website.
Here's the video from KRIS TV.

I have an idea they didn’t show their faces because they didn’t want to leave wearing them sideways.

Watched the video - good for all of those that participated. Fine folks.

This reporter needs to wake up to the reality that many of the so called antiwar (they are largely PRO-Palestinian War and were silent on Bill Clinton’s wars) protesters are RADICALS too every bit as offensive as Fred Phelps’ cult.

I want to thank the Patriot Guard Riders who showed up. They weren't the only motorcycle club that showed up, but they did a great job of getting the word out.

When there is a serious possibility of physical confrontation, they always fail to show
cowards.

Good work vs. cowardly no-shows.
To: Paleo Conservative
they wanted to thank GodGod just might have a thing or two to say to them one and I doubt it will be "you're welcome".

To bad the leader of this church decided to call it Baptist. Most Baptist are down to earth, God fearing salt of the earth types and not prone to this Anti-God crap.

Thanks for being there.
Posted this again, did a search and came up with nothing.

Thank you. I don’t believe the Westboro Baptist Church is associated with the Baptist Convention.

The church had also planned to be at Maria Lauterbach’s funeral Saturday in Vandalia, OH. The Patriot Guard was there to honor Maria and to protect her family from any ugliness from Westboro Baptist Church. If they showed up, the local news didn’t cover it. For once doing the right thing. I love the service the Patriot Guard provides for the families and friends of our fallen military heros.

All plan and no show. They threatened to be at Maria Lauterbach’s funeral Saturday. I don’t know is they were there or not. The local news did not mention them but they did show the Patriot Guard on duty. Warms my heart to see them at these military funerals. They also rode when the military brought her body home last week.

My daughter (she and hubby, pilot instructor, are stationed at Corpus) sen me some pics taken by her friend Tracy>

Any one see ANY coverage on this on MSM?
4 or 5 code pinkos in Berkley get wide coverage - 3,000 pro-troops, pro-Americans rally - nada.
Blaring media bias
Think about sending the TV links to anyone you know overseas. They need to know America is behind them. They wont hear it in the MSlimeMedia.
