bs...I am voting for Romney no matter who the hell is voting for McCain.
I agree
Strategery!
Ping!
Then how the heck do we know who will be chosen in the end?
I like your idea, except for the part about voting for McCain or Huckabee if they’re running second.
Sounds like BS to me.
“Then how the heck do we know who will be chosen in the end?”
Conservatives can influence that by their feedback to party leaders. They aren’t likely to do worse than what we have now.
Agreed. If Romney wins outright, we win. If not, let’s hope for a brokered convention.
This is my thoughts on Super Tuesday, I think Romney is going to carry all the western states, except Maybe California, and Romney will carry the states in the Northeast. That just leaves the Southern States to be divided up between the candidates. If Huckabee takes even one of the Southern states he is taking it away from McCain which is making it better for Romney.
Agreed!
Go Mitt!
What?
How can you say that?
There are at least two candidates I can get exited over.
Oh, wait: you wrote "excited"...
No, there's certainly nobody to get excited about.
There’s only one problem with your convoluted strategy”
It ignores the fact that several of the primaries occur on one day, often called “Super Tuesday,” with the very real chance one candidate could go from tail-end-Charlie to fait accompli in a single day.
I agree with you. None of the potential Republican nominees excites the base. On the other hand, the Dems are highly motivated and will say or do ANYTHING to regain power. Personally, I support Romney because he’s the ONLY one who clearly addresses the issues of illegal immigration, victory in Iraq, and less taxation. I think conservatism is at a crucial point in time. The victory of McCain will definitely destroy conservative principles for at least the next decade - including the future direction of the Supreme Court.
Then how the heck do we know who will be chosen in the end?
Who knows..... you may wind up with a nominee like;
Keyes
Buchanan
Frist
Gringrich
DeLay
Dole
or any other you can speculate on......
I’d prefer a one term McCain to an unknown choice at this time and use the four years to try and get another candidate lined up for 2012....
It sounds good but I don’t know how good the state polls are. I suspect that conservatives are undercounted in the polls. They are more likely to have callerID and cell phones only (cxan anyone verify this).
Interesting approach, but I will not vote for a RINO in any primary. Hunter is still on the ballot in California.
Note that over at Intrade, the contract for a GOP Brokered convention went from ~25 to ~6 right after McCain won Florida. Currently, it’s at 7.4, BEHIND the democratic chance at 8.1.
