First off that's not the quote of icwhatudo you lifted, it's mine. Second it wasn't claimed he's the new Reagan. He has however been consistent on some issues that are important to conservatives and for that I'm willing to give him a chance since I feel conservatives would be allowed at his table.
There's no hope for McCain and there never will be. Anyone who supports him or helps to win in any way are the ones being fooled. It's just imo though and you won't find me spamming McCain threads demanding that all of his 8 supporters open their eyes and vote for someone else.
To: TheLion
I heard it on the radio. McCain a distant second. I was surprised to hear Fox Radio not all downhearted. Fox has been biased for McCain on tv anyway. At this point, I’m not looking at any polls. They are simply becoming a propaganda tool.

I think you want to address you comment to WhistlingPastTheGraveyard, as he brought up the sign-up date comment:
What you see someone excessively bashing Romney, check the sign-up date and look at their posting history. You'll find that most of these people have never been active here, don't participate in any other discussions and show all the signs of being paid political operatives.
And what I said in response, "What I see are new sign ups for Mitt" is, indeed, a fact. That must have escaped your notice.

I don’t necessarily dispute your some incoherent argument, but I think it’s a measure for how much a lot of freepers, including me, hate McCain, and have been hating him for a long time.

The only ones rationalizing around here are those rechristening Romney as the great Conservative hope.I don't see it that way. I see alot of poster choosing the lesser of two evils.
In a worst case situation, I'd choose the candidate who offered lip service to the one who plainly says he's going to screw me and my values over.
Its a helluva fix we're in.

I didn't see a single post from any of them on the MTV LIVE debate thread that's in the breaking news sidebar. Ron Paul was one of only four participants, too. I guess they weren't interersted in watching their candidate debate. Yet, they were online the whole time, camped out on this thread. Or, gosh........maybe there's just no access to a hooked up t.v. Just d@mn. Guess you don't have everything figured out, do ya?

Delegate count.
McCain 97
Romney 92

They’re both evils, that is certainly true, but there are WAY too many people on here characterizing Romney as a Conservative, when that is simply a bold-faced falsehood. They come unhinged when his record is read to them. The problem with choosing a candidate who pays Conservative issues lip service while having no intention of doing the right thing means that you’re still getting screwed.

In this case, it's not the number of delegates, binding or not binding...it's the psychological boost that comes with a victory.
This win will have a tremendous effect. It came at the right time and in the right state.

McCain is the gop’s Ebeneezer Scrooge, the BEFORE Scrooge. He’s got a mean streak. Forget about him being a goodwill ambassador. He’s mean and stubborn.
