Low tax rates is what I have supported for a long time, Romney is the best option present. I am not distracted by what other’s think.

Thank you very much for this information. I know Thompson's record and I know McLib is a mirror image of hitlery, but I don't know much about Romney. Thank you again for your post.

Romney in '08.

Good points Tom. I do think McCain is getting maybe more venom than deserved. I don’t like some of what he has done, in particular the Gang of 14 is what I don’t like and also his Global Warming stance. But I have also heard Mitt mention GW in speeches to the degree that he also seems to be a believer. This is one item I am in lockstep with Dubya on, and that is Global Warming is an unproven hypothesis. Seems all our candidates unfortunately support some sort of GW fight. I will vote for McCain if he wins. To me, the alternative is inconceivable.

Some concerns with Romney don’t fall on deaf ears. All these candidates are to be looked at with a jaundiced eye.

But if I may borrow from “Cook County”; Romney will be answerable and obliged to Conservatives for his office; whereas McCain will be the usual slavish to the LA Time’s and The Boston Globe’s whims for his office.

That’s a whole lot of vitriol on your part for a Fred supporter. If Fred were still in the race (did you get the memo?) those same folks would more than likely support him.

"I would still like to know how if Maine's primary is winner take all."

It's not and it has almost the lowest amount of delegates of any state...only 21.

When it comes to taxes that’s one area where I think Romney would do very well. McCain’s record proves he thinks like a tax and spend democrat and in the name of “bipartisanship” would give us plenty of it.

I will work even harder to be sure I never have to see your choice of candidate win.

And I too will Vote for Romney if he is chosen... United we stand... and I feel that we can change the direction of anything in politics but only if we speak as one voice.

Actually I would not consider McCain a tax and spender. He has been anti-pork barrel for a long time. He does though has some odd positions on mergers here and there. He claims he wants to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, so perhaps he has had a moment of clarity on that, plus I think he really got the message on amnesty from the US citizens. Let’s not forget, Bush would have signed it if it made it to his desk.

New Hampshire has only 12

Romney doesn’t answer to anyone. He’s a megalomaniac. In that regard, he’s no different than McCain.

What’s your evidence for this great trend toward the GOP in WV?
My father who was worked for GOP candidates for 50 years see’s very little trend! (The only bright spot is Shelly Moore Capito, who by the standards of many here is quite the RINO! She has to be or she wouldn’t remain in office!)
The current state legislature consists of 4 GOP state senators out of 34 & 19 out of 100 (if I counted them right!) The numbers have NOT fluctuated all that much of the last couple of election cycles.
