Sure Huckabee the man who raised the dysfuncitonal family!
Huck never got so high in this race for all of his pass deeds showed up!
He’s said he’s had a change of heart, and either way there was nothing he could do to ban abortions in MA. If you’re going to blame him for them simply because he was the governor, are you going to blame the abortions in Arkansas on Huckabee?
number 7 will not get you Thompson.
the only way to a thompson in a brokered convention is to keep huckabee’s numbers as low as possible.
IOW don’t vote for huckabee.
Vote for Romney so that he will be tied or just over McCain but not over the top. This has the effect of forcing the two BIG camps to talk and thus shut out huckabee and kookpaul.
You don’t want to force a VP power point to huckabee by giving him king maker delegates.
Well, there you have it. That’s why McCain is winning. Economic conservatives like me won’t vote for McCain or Huckabee no matter what. Social conservatives won’t vote for Romney. So the conservatives are split, and the mushy RINO’s are all voting for McCain.
I'm more cynical than that. Huckabee did some research to find out who the most committed tax group was. IOW, what group would sign onto his campaign if he paid them lip service. His information came back with "Fair Taxers." He said, "Okey dokey, fair tax it is."
Pandering is worse than being wrong and proud.
I hadn’t even heard of a brokered convention ‘til about 2 weeks ago. I have no clue how one even works. I’m anxious to read everybody’s ideas of why one might and why one might not. As I got farther down the thread folks were starting to comment on that.
Fantastic!
Take that all you Romney-is-the-second-coming bandwagon crowd!
(I don’t have strong animosity toward Romney, I just trust him even less than Huck)
Will this be the end of the anti-Huckabee hysteria??
You will notice that I did not include Hunter in my list. His endorsement can be understood. He's pro 2A, pro-life and he was snubbed by the party establishment, just like Huckster. Plus, Hunter has a protectionist streak in him which dovetails alright with Huckabee's populism.
I guess you didn't read the rest of my post.
If Kerry had won Ohio, he would have won without the need of ANY of the southern states. G.W. Bush is in the White House today... because he won Ohio, which was a contested state with the end results being fairly close.
What's the political forecast in Ohio TODAY?
I rest MY case... :)

Yes, I will take Tom Tancredo's judgment and expertise on immigration issues over Gilchirst's. Gilchrist is having his own problems with the split of the Minutemen movement.
Yeah, I'm sure Massachusetts had the same amount of illegal immigration problems as a southern state near the border. And those sanctuary cities must have been my imagination.
Illegal immigration has metastasized around the country. It is no longer a border state issue. I can tell that living here in Northern VA, it is a major issue. Romney has a good record in his state compared to Huckabee. For example, he fought against in-state tuition for illegals and he obtained 287 [g] authority for state law enforcement officials. Huckabee is rated lower than Romney by Numbers USA in terms of their actual records.
I am an immigration activist who has spent almost two weeks following the McCain campaign around SC and FL. I will take Romney over Huckabee on immigration and so will my colleagues. It is not even close.
If I’m locking in a concentration camp in 1940. I’d prefer my guard to be a non-principled will do anything for money panderer than a proud and principled Nazi.
Proud and wrong can be worse than pandering depending on how proud and how wrong your are.
Right. Romney promises now to be pro-life. NOW that he wants to be president. And Huckabee promises to secure the borders. Hell, even McCain NOW promises to secure the borders. And Giuliani promised to appoint strict constructionists. Campaign promises are worth diddly squat.
Words don’t fail me.
Voting for Huckabee would be the same as voting for Carter all over again. NO THANKS.
Thank you, it gave me a chuckle, I needed it.
You cant stop McCain by supporting Huckabee. You just can’t. The old divide and conquer is why McCain is where he is right now.
