Well, so much for the arrogant Mutt from Mass and his lie last night about “absolutely...Reagan would endorse me” (notice how the other candidates didn’t claim it?)

I'd rather win with McCain than lose with Romney
I feel like Jack Benny being accosted by the mugger, "Your money or your life!"
Benny then did a classic take, making it hilarious.

But seriously, even tho McCain would not be as bad as Hillary directly, he would cut the conservatives out of the action almost as badly, and produce a split in the Republican Party sufficiently to make even me - and I know that "third" parties have a terrible track record - think third party.

But the reality that you do not consider with the choice you assume is that polls favoring McCain over Hillary in a general election matchup are premised on the caveat, "If the election were held today." But it would be unconstitutional to hold the election today. So the question you have to ask yourself is what is likely to happen between now and November, and you can set your watch by the fact that Big Journalism and the Democratic Party will spring an "October Surprise." Only, it won't be a surprise - it will be Keating 5 scandalmongering.

McCain looks good in polls now because Big Journalism wants him to look good now. Once he is safely nominated, McCain will suddenly become "dumb." And "old." And mean-tempered. And that simply will in no way be a hard sell. He finished pretty low in his graduating class from Anapolis and has publicly admitted he doesn't understand economics, he's about as old as Reagan was when Reagan was reelected, and he does have a temper.

So if Big Journalism goes after him, McCain will fold like a cheap camera. And anyone who thinks that the Democrat won't put those things out there - or that Big Journalism won't promote those things as they never would do to a Democrat - is not playing with a full deck.

I see no advantage to nominating McCain. None

I could not care less who endorses that creep, I’ll never vote him.

Adult stem cell research does not kill an unborn baby. There is a difference between adult stem cell research and embryonic stem cell research. Just stating stem cell research is how the left puts it......to tarnish the right. Adult stem cell research is already saving lives daily and is supported by everyone.

He won’t win. He’s Gerald Ford, 2008.

Nancy Reagan was good to her husband. Beyond that there is no beyond there.

Nancy's kids don't even like her. But someone should have advised her not to get into the campaign till a nominee is chosen. That's what her husband would have done.

By supporting McCain she is automatically attempting to defeat the others. Not good for an ex-first lady.

That is a point of contention for me. Although at least he does not support creating embryos for reseach (fetal farming), or cloning. I am hoping the new non-destructive method will get more traction.

At least I know where McCain stands.

That's true. He stands with the Democrats.

Assume the fetal position. I’m rolling up into a little ball. Wake me in December.

It’s hard to read your posts. Your sentence structure and grammar are incorrect. An end-of-sentence symbol would be great now and then as well. (Of course, since you’re not using sentences, it’d be hard to know where to put them...)

I’m also considering it. But I’m not going to because it will be funny to read this place in a couple of months when McCain is the nominee, and the current rancor among all of you slowly devolves until this site looks like an offshoot of DU or dailykos:

“Hillary/Obama is more conservative than McCain! Vote Hillary/Obama!”

“McInsane down another point nationally, we got him on the ropes!”

“A list of attacks to use against The republican ticket (considering sending to liberal websites to help stop McCAINANDABLE”

Be reasonable.

But someone should have advised her not to get into the campaign till a nominee is chosen.

From the words right in the article it said that she IS NOT getting into the political side.

She simply said she supported him as a personal friend. So? ...So drudge turned it into a hysterical headline.

She should have slapped it down with a press release. If she lets it stand, that’s not good.

I’m not big on “body language”, but McCain was just atrocious in his demeanor toward Romney. I can’t imagine this guy being our president!
