I’d say that a good 60% are doing exactly as you say... they are selling their souls for a non-assured victory... based strictly on what a stephanopolis or a cuomo tells them.

You have to ask yourself, though, at what point is the Left TOO successful in squelching dissent, and oppressing conservatives? If they take away our media outlets, if their propaganda machine and imported illegals can take away our voice in our own political party, what's left to us at that point?
I'm assuming that their socialism will have robbed us of our prosperity too.
Do we have nothing left to lose at that point but to pick up a gun and shoot the first lefty we see? Would it make any difference if we all tried to move to one state to reassert our constitutional right to self governance?

I was so aggravated this morning that banned some McCain supporters on my forum. I later chilled out and removed the ban! I think I need a beer!

I think you're right. There aren't enough conservatives in this country to elect a conservative president by ourselves--we win when the "moderates" perceive that it's in their interest to vote for a conservative candidate, as they did with Reagan. Unfortunately the majority of voters are either liberal or "moderate" (I believe conservatives only make up about 30% of the electorate), and the "moderates" tend to pay very little attention to the issues, so they don't really know what various candidates stand for.
Who's POTUS is important this time around.
I remember after SLick began his slighness...Rush was on a tirade back then...Newt was on air a lot....Congress got shook up, The Contract with America was a success.
The people did it, Not Rush!! Newt screwed up in his personal life...on and on....Newt stepped on too many toes of the 'old time money in office on the Hill'.
Conservatives lost then, came on too strong too quick...although the swing back right was needed at the time.
Political lessens learned then need application now.
