Our focus turns now to Super Tuesday. Recent polling shows us in first or tied for first place in Georgia, Arkansas, Alabama, Missouri, Tennessee and Oklahoma. Voters in these states will have a chance to reclaim the nominating process for conservatives by casting their votes in support of our campaign. And in the states where poll after poll has shown us in second or third, please spread the word that we are still standing and we have what it takes to win.
Because if I am a Republican voter in a state casting votes next week on Super Tuesday, I am asking two fundamental questions:
Which candidate best reflects my views on the issues?
And does that candidate have what it takes to defeat the Democrat nominee in the fall?
If I am a voter in Tennessee and I care deeply about education, I want a President that has executive experience reforming a state's education system and has a substantive plan to reform education at the national level.
If I am a voter in Georgia and I care deeply about the issues of abortion and marriage, I want a President that will fight tirelessly for life and the family at the federal level, someone with a real record of achievement on these issues not just a politician paying election year lip service on those issues.
If I am a voter in Missouri and I am worried about the economy, I want a President that understands what its like to walk in my shoes and has a plan to stimulate the economy and real world, governing experience to strengthen and help grow our economy.
If I am a voter in California and I am concerned about national security, especially border security, I want a President that has a plan to secure our borders, end amnesty and end the practice of sanctuary cities.
If I am a voter in Alabama and I care passionately about the Second Amendment, I want a President that understands the Second Amendment is primarily about tyranny and the right to self-defense not hunting.
If the Republican nominee cannot relate to Republican voters on these important and fundamental issues, we will not defeat the Democrats in the fall.
If the Republican nominee appears out of touch with regular voters or has cast votes that were an anathema to his party, that candidate will fail to unite the Republican Party against the Democrat nominee, no matter who that Democrat nominee is.
I have what it takes, our campaign is still standing and drawing new support everyday and I am prepared to lead America forward. Spread the word. I am fighting for you and will continue to do so every step of the way.
"Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity."
Governor Romney increasingly looks unelectable at any price.
After Florida, Huckabee is looking like the only option for many whose values were overlooked by the 3 main candidates, Mitt, John and Rudy.
Huck and Rudy will help ensure that this will be the case and conservatives will eventually thank them even if they curse them today
Let’s call it Super Bowl Tuesday! :D
Moot point . No one we have can beat either Klinton or Obama . Not even close. Bad times are on the way . We blew it again as usual. The Republican party better get it together or it will go the way of the dinosaur.
Kurt Evans: “Governor Romney increasingly looks unelectable at any price.”
And you somehow think Huckabee is electable? Romney, for all his faults, has a lot better chance than Huckabee. In my opinion, Huckabee is only staying in to become McCain’s VP. He must know he doesn’t have a chance of winning.
Unfortunately, McCain has promised that job to a dozen people already, most notably Charlie Crist.
terrible things will happen to foreign policy if the dems are in charge. Fortunately terrible things will also happen to the economy (please no help from Greenspan or Newt this time). I say fortunately because americans will feel it more and realize how stupid they were for electing keynesian socialists and not let it happen again for a long time.
Also, once hillary is elected, the thrill of the first woman president will be gone after 4 years and people will wake up to reality.
I will know on the day of the big primary. If it is McCain, I resign.
Huck isn’t staying in to be VP. mccain is running against a woman so he’ll probably want a woman VP or at least someone that won’t turn off the female voters. Besides, huck can drop out and still be VP if he really made sense for McCain...
no, there’s another reason why Huck is staying in the race.
Mitt supporter here, but I’m not trying to be sarcastic when I say Mike looks MUCH better whenever he’s standing next to Juan McCain.
I think that’s true. I live in Florida. It’s a very varied state with “Bloomberg” type Republicans in the urban areas - big government, high-tax control freaks who have a liberal social agenda but are marginally less lavish with entitlements than the Dems - and small-government values voters in the small towns and rural areas. All you really have to do here is get places like Miami and Orlando on board, and you’ve won; and those places were already on the side of whatever RINO was most like a Dem. The issue of values rarely even arose, simply because the rural and small town electorate here isn’t important enough and nobody but Huckabee, already written off by Rush Limbaugh and other pundits, even seemed to care about these issues - although he probably knew he didn’t have much chance here anyway.
A state that elects RINOs such as Charlie Crist and Mel Martinez is not going to suddenly change its stripes. In addition, the GOP establishment here is very RINO oriented and really only promotes Bloomberg types. What Florida voters had to choose from were simply Dems with an R before their names.
ari-freedom: “no, theres another reason why Huck is staying in the race.”
Care to hazard a guess? Do you think he seriously believes he can win?
Rudy didn’t do very well though so I am happy about that he’s gone. Romney will be next to go but that won’t be so easy...he tricked a lot of people including myself but I eventually figured him out. :)
If it wasn't so early that one would win joke of the day.
No
he’s doing it to take out Romney. That’s why Rudy will also endorse McCain. To take out Romney before he embarrasses the GOP.
LS: “Unfortunately, McCain has promised that job to a dozen people already, most notably Charlie Crist.”
From what I’ve read on Crist, he’s a real RINO, just like McPain. I’m having serious trouble deciding if I could vote for McLame, even against her thighness, Hillary. Sometimes I think Republicans need some time out until we come to our senses, then the thought of President Hillary slaps me back to my senses. Gosh, voting for McCain in November is gonna be one of the hardest votes I have ever made. Gag!
