(Vanity) Pool: When will the New York Times publish its green light McCain hit piece?
New York Times ^ | January 29, 2008 | Vanity

At some point, when McCain becomes the presumptive GOP nominee, the mainstream media will switch its McCain coverage from positive to negative. The positive coverage has been to ensure this maverick gains the nomination, the negative coverage will be to dismantle him so as to clear the path for the Democrat nominee.

The MSM takes its cue from the New York Times, so the McCain attacks will not begin in earnest until the NYT publishes gives the green light by publishing a front page McCain hit piece.

Post your guess as to the date of the New York Times McCain hit piece. As a bonus, pick the subject. Examples include his age, health, temperament, Keating Five, first wife, war monger, etc.

Why should the NYT critique McCain? Aside from surrendering in Iraq, he’ll give the Dems everything they want.

Later rather than sooner.

I think mid-summer we will see articles about "a growing concern over McCain's temperament" which will then become THE issue of the race--Is John McCain mentally fit for office?

Meanwhile, Hillary will do her nice, calm Listening Tour thing, and "not want to talk about anything but what I'm going to do for the American public."

Wow, you guys are scary...

For McCain, Self-Confidence on Ethics Poses Its Own Risk

It will backfire on the NY Slimes. They can’t get away with no sources...or anonymous sources...on a political hit so overt.

McCain can play the wronged victim...a favorite 2nd down and 6 play for the liberals, now used against them.
