You're correct, IMO.

The pre-arranged, pre-Florida secret alliance between McCain and Guiliani had more players than just those two.....Floridians Crist and Martinez are logical co-conspirators along with the other co-conspirators.

That’s not a pleasant thought. Maybe Rudy could be secretary of education if they have to put him somewhere.

I’m done with the Republican Party. They can forget my money, my time, and my support. They do not represent me. They have made that fact abundently clear. The “party” consistently promotes candidates who are far to the left of what “Republicans” used to stand for.

Ya think?

Romney is always on defense. I didn’t like the tactics that McCain used in saying that Romney wanted a withdrawal date, but that is nothing compared to what the Hillary people would do. Romney just kept playing defense. He was completely blindsided. I think Hillary would beat him easily.

That’s a big whopper. Romney came out immediately and demanded an apology from McInsane for saying it. Plus he immediately went on the attack against McLame as being a liberal voter on key issues such as amnesty, CFR, voting against Bush’s tax cuts, etc. What Romney couldn’t fight was the endorsement of Gov. Crist, the endorsement of Sen. Martinez, and the whole apparatus of the State GOP establishment leaders in FL that were thrown against him. Plus a bunch of old codgers voting for one of their own.

Hey! I remember that!! Thanks for blowing the dust off it for a healthy review of how this has been lurking in the Republican sub-conscious all this time!!!

“I don’t know if “a hoot” is the phrase I would use.”

I should think if you have read any of my other posts that you would realize I was using that term facetiously. But maybe I have to make that clearer to some that don’t see the obvious.

Who will do the work?

While Rudy would be an outstanding AG...

You think Mayor Sanctuary City, who calls for federal gun licensing, that thinks women have a "right" to federally funded abortion, and thinks we should all have national ID cards so he can put it into some big database, would be "an outstanding AG"? Not to mention his abuses of the 1st and 4th amendments as mayor, support for rent control, etc.

You're scary.

You know that is just disgusting! Seriously, I’m ashamed to see something like that posted on FR. I have NO intention of voting for McCain in the primary (have no clue what I’ll do if he gets the nomination) but to wish he were still a POW is sick.

Not a chance when the MSM gets through with him! The media darling is McCain only because they know Hillary can beat McCain. I will keep praying that Mitt Romney wins the nomination in the end!

Liberals of a feather stick together! (In Rudy's case it might be a feather boa...)

Rudy will not accept Attorney General, or even Homeland Security. These spots are generally filled by no-name schlumps like Not-So-Speedy Gonzalez or the current AG (can't even remember his name).....and Tom Ridge and Smirnoff Chirnoff.

Top-echelon names like Guiliani have no yen for these type of jobs which have no pizzaz, no splash, no opportunities to play on a much higher stage. Plus, as the old song goes, these spots are a LOT of grub farm work and who wants them after they've seen Paree.

SCOTUS is a remote possibility for the mayor, however I don't believe a blatant political court appointment like that by McCain would find any support in the Senate.....or indeed, from the American people in general.

I was just cursing dobson earlier today for much of the same reason.

Conservatives mostly have ourselves to blame. We didn’t rally behind one candidate; thus we splintered the conservative vote (which wasn’t nearly as LARGE a vote as a lot of conservatives seem to have deluded themselves into thinking it was), and thus “moderates” won the day.

Stupid, but our choices were pretty bleak from the beginning.

Just like the GOP tried to groom Schwarzie (and then Carly, and now Meg), they latched onto Giuliani when he was a star and have been tryiing to build him up for most of this decade. I'll never forget those appearances at the convention--the early steps to herd the sheep. Message to GOP: pffffft! We don't want no stinkin' liberals!

I know, but I’m not in the running for AG.

Rudy would be scary to international and domestic terrorists, which makes him ideal for the gig.

The night of the ‘04 election, I predicted a Hillary/Obama ticket. What I did not predict was a Hillary OR Obama ticket. Still not sure.

I think McCain’s VP pick is crucial, due to age & health factors.
