Now that the Sunshine has set, two old friends come to an understanding.
McCain topper Rick Davis quietly negotiated the agreement.
HALPERINS TAKE: 10 things Giuliani could have done differently.
Giuliani, in Florida concession speech, talked about his effort in the past tense, but said nothing explicit about dropping out or The Deal.

I'm confident that my vote will go to a pro-Constitutionalist McQueeg
There, fixed it.
If you don't think Soros backed comlib moonbat truthers aren't backing The Stupidest "Constitutionalist" that ever lived you are a typical RuPaulette. Be proud!
WOOHOO!
Thank YOU, JimRob! Your statements and the “Rooty RINO Cleansing” got so much press, I believe it played a large role in Conservatives saying NO! to the baby killing, gun grabbing, homo hugger.
Jim if I send you some more money, will you run for President....please?
Typical 3%'er. You do know how silly that makes you look don't you?
Fascinating point ... there is hope for Romney, as McCain is NOT the preferred choice of most Republican
McCain ‘won’ with only 36% of the vote.
The more conservative voters were peeling off for Huckabee and Romney - together they would be 46% of the vote.
The exit polls ALSO show:
- McCain won the proaborts (48%!!)
- Romney won the prolife voters overall, but Huck drew the strong prolife vote (’always illegal’ went 32% huck, 30% Romney)
THE CONSERVATIVE VOTE IS STILL SPLIT.
Unfortunately, Huckabee is still in the race.
So ... if you want to blame this nomination on someone, I’d make the scapegoat ... Dr Dobson! It was his embrace of Huckabee over Thompson and the far-right socon decamping from Fred and non-embrace of Romney that fractured the conservative consensus 3 ways.
McCain has just rolled up the left side.
You’d expect the secular trend to favor Rudy - nope. Went McCain.
The left, the moderates, the prochoicers - THEY PICKED MCCAIN.
Well, I don’t know. All I can do is stand and cheer as each RINO drops out. I can’t seem to get enthusiastic about any of them. Hopefully, I’ll be able to support the last RINO standing against Hillary. But, sheesh, what if it’s McCain?
Pray for a brokered convention! Draft Thompson/Hunter!!
I guess we have to settle for a Dem the last four years on earth. Considering the world will end in 2012. :)
Things like this alliance are worked out prior.....in this case probably as soon as Rudy was receiving his own internal polls on Florida.
This alliance didn't suddenly occur when the polls closed tonight. Nothing is this "spontaneous" in big league hardball cutthroat politics.
Remember, Rudy was supposed to make a big splash and a big last stand in Florida. However, his campaigning was token and his one round of robo-calls was token......just enough to keep his name on the news yesterday and today. But no one seemed to notice this with all the excitement going on this week.
Nice little finess by the two tricksters. Even the huckster must have grudging admiration for this Florida ploy.

Learn Spanish.
LOL! If nominated by my party I will not run. If elected I will not serve.
Bye Bye Rudy. Live long and be happy.
Sorry, my vote goes to Paul. If it causes McCain to be elected, that’s yours and the GOP’s problem, not mine.
Typical boot-licker for the statists.
You do know how silly that makes you look don't you?
You do know that I don't give a damn, don't you?
For conservatives, this election will be a disaster.
The Republican establishment learned nothing about the 2006 election disaster.
We’re screwed.
