We’re doomed with McPain.
The gun issue hurt Romney bad in Florida , as it will in other places . He should have gotten right on this issue from the start .
I’m counting on them to fight,not give up their 2nd A rights. Regardless of the votes or laws that are shoved down our throats. I’m counting on places not like NJ and NY and MA, and mainly NJ where I live, mainly not liberal playgrounds, to fight. I’ll fight, I own a gun, legally, and I’ll use it. We can keep voting and voting works most of the time. But it takes more than voting, it takes real Americans, to fight. I’m counting on those in the mid west and areas other than California and the Northeast. I live in NJ, not much we can do here.
We have to stop the Amnesty, too.
I don’t think we’re going to get the politicians against amnesty elected any time soon. I think we have some good politicians/americans who have proven themselves. We have to keep them in office and also elect more like them. Not sure how the latter is going to go. I know I suck, I was asked to run for school board here, the election is in a couple months. I know I’d be good but I don’t know if I can do it. I hate politics. I also hate what’s going on in my town/school district. It’s minor, in the grand scheme of national elections, but I’m considering it now. We were a conservative town but now we’re a dem liberal town since the camden machine won and we now have a mayor and town council that is 100% lib dem. Odd considering we’re an affluent, white collar town.
Basically, I’m counting on them to keep doing what they do. It’s the mid west, and such (anyone not including the northeast and california) that make this country great.

The irony is that I would be more worried about McCain becoming a no-holds-barred turn-em-all-in gun grabber than Romney.

Hattie, i think what Claudia is saying is that the party bigwigs want McCain to win because he is in Congress and plays their game..he’s got some chips to play with and can pay them back..Romney is an outsider, has no chips to hand out, no jobs to promise, no favorite lobbyists he can connect the bigwigs with, no inside track to the inner circles of the party like McCain has—and that means a lot!- and is seen by the bigwigs as just another outsider...Lots of pizzazz and money but no party favors to hand out...also- remember the corporate sponsors who play up to the bigwigs..McCain knows how that game is played too, after 30 years in Washington...

Since I’m at home, I listened to the video, and there were no crickets. The thought that he didn’t have an answer at all is absurd of course.
BTW, it’s 2007. The 90s are over. Come join us, Clinton isn’t president — oh wait, I forgot, that’s what you are trying to do, bring back the 90s, by giving the white house back to the clintons.

The video clip shows that Romney was very honest about both his beliefs and what he felt about the law. His personal beliefs were good, his position on Roe was bad.
Now he has finally reconciled the two, on the side of life.
It’s good that we have a Savior who, when we arrive in heaven, won’t throw us into hell for what we did before we saw the light.
It’s unfortunate that we save our sharpest attacks for people who come to our side. Not one but TWO groups that never before existed are now spending millions to “solve” the abortion problem — but rather than use that money to really educate people about the horrors of abortion, they are using it to attack a pro-life republican because he had the audacity to see the light and join our side.

They don’t necessarily want what’s best, except what’s best for them. You see it in every big organization.
Sure they lose seats and some fund-raising power, but unless there is a disaster the loses are marginal. The South’s loss of the civil war was such a disaster for the Democratic Party, as the Great Depression was for the Republicans.
The big problem the Republicans have now is that there are no heirs to the Bush legacy. Cheney is too old to run given his medical history. No Republican national heroes have emerged.
Better to consolidate in opposition, than risk more exposure to the publics’ wrath. :^)
I agree . McPain has just as much of a mixed record as Romney on the gun issue . I think Romney would be far more controllable on that issue . McPain likes to ram things down our throats ....get ready it’s going to be a rough ride ....
We have excellent conservative orators in Alan Keyes and Rush Limbaugh.
Unfortunately, Rush has no interest in political office and Alan Keyes has no political career left.
LOL - this weekend the internal polls in Tennessee showed 1. Thompson 2. Huckabee 3. McCain 4. Paul 4. Romney with Thompson actually having a good shot at sweeping the delegates.
