THE US will commit $US2 billion ($2.27 billion) over the next three years for a new international fund to promote clean energy technologies and fight climate change, President George W. Bush will tell Congress today in his annual State of the Union speech.

More conventional wisdom. Anything but look at the answers right in front of us that would cost a fraction of this amount to implement, mostly to get around obstructions and let the markets operate.
Who is more Rino? Bush?, or the line up of current candidates?, I ask rhetorically.
Will this make the spring thaw come sooner?
That man is dangerous and will be until we take the US check book away from him, and that won’t be soon enough for me! I’m sorry I ever voted for him. To say that he makes me sick would be the understatement of the day!
The saddest part is we will likely give money to those who not only will not solve the problem, they will subsidize it.
Remember oil shale and Synfuels; long live ADM, Cargill and the ethanol boondoggle.
We did not realize that Algore won the election after all.
You got it.
noblisse oblige, with a squishy brand of Methodism
well done!
Please translate! LOL
Cue the ‘Stupidity’ picture with GWB’s face substituted for Algore’s.
This should be an epic battle plus will test the wills on both combatants as man and nature duke it out.
LOL Great writing for the voiceover of the movie trailer or reality show.
I guess it will go to a legal fund to sue the Sun and force it to stop heating up all the Inner Planets of the Solar System.
It is time for those who continue to defend this traitor, liberal, jerk of a President to just shut up. I am as sick of GW as I am the admitted liberals from the Democrat party.
GW billed himself as a conservative, made all sorts of conservative-sounding promises, and what do we have to show for it? Ok - we got a couple of justices on the SCOTUS (which I will admit is pretty important), but everything else is suspect...
I support our troops, but feel that the war should not have taken a “surge” to put things back on schedule - just simply running it like a war to begin with with absolute overwhelming force would have been the best bet. But that is just armchair general talk - so I will defer to our military leaders.
But our Federal Government has continued to spend as if the money comes from a bottomless pit (well, I guess it does as the Fed keeps printing more money - thus lowering the value of the few dollars we have).
And now, GW has decided to flip-flop on the environment. He initially looked like he was going to go with reason. But now he give stock to the shysters who are promoting the global warming fraud. At a time when more and more scientists and those who REALLY study the climate are coming out to dispute the global warming claims (and while areas of the Middle East are seeing record cold spells and even snow...), GW is throwing out logic and diving head-first into the mess.
And he actually signed the bill to take away my incandescent bulbs (and is going to cause the price of automobiles to jump substantially).
From the early months or so of the GW Bush presidency - many suggested his face be placed on Mt. Rushmore. Now I would like to see his face accompanied by an article saying he was impeached.
And a large number of folks claiming to be conservative are proudly standing up and saying - YES, we will vote for someone who is even far more liberal than GW. There is not a candidate on the Republican ballot now that is even as pseudo-conservative as GW’s nearly centrist position.
So I guess that we are in for a further shift of the USA to the FAR left, regardless of candidates because so many are worried about “beating Hillary” (or Obama”). I am done. I cannot take any more of this idiocy. We cannot give a pass to someone who is not going to make the hard decisions for the LONG TERM GOOD of the US. EVERY candidate presents a clear and present danger to our well being and this country.
I will follow my own advice and vote in November for whoever comes closest to my own values. Without some kind of hijinks, that won’t be any of the current Democrat or Republican candidates. If that means “throwing away” my vote (as some on here will no doubt accuse me of), then so be it. It is time for Christians and people who care about this country to vote their conscience, not just to defeat someone who is only slightly worse than the Republican candidate.
If we hear “Hail To The Chief” played for Osama, or Hillary - then we can only blame ourselves - we have allowed the Republican Party to jump the shark. But maybe we will be shocked into an “equal-but-opposite” reaction in 4 years and the country will be begging for a real conservative. I just hate that the next POTUS will probably get at least 1 and maybe more appointments to the SCOTUS.
I am truly seeing in my time the Republican version of what we heard just a few years back from one of the most notable Democrats in the last 50 years who spoke at the Republican National Convention... our party turning its back on us.
I actually am hoping for a divided Republican Convention - and that a major number of delegates get fed up and walk out. It is time.
No they won't. They will then claim that the measures taken fixed the "problem".
pissing
money
away
Yeah - that's the ticket. Mitt is several steps to the LEFT of GW when GW was elected in 2000. So basically Mitt, if on his best behavior, would be about 8 steps farther left than Hillary before the end of his first term.
But one thing I firmly believe - God will put the person we DESERVE in the office. Might be very painful (judgment often is), but maybe it will wake us up.
I did not think his father was very smart and I don't think he's very smart. The only thing I can say positively about GW at this point is that he's better than the Goron or F'n' Kerry would have been. Faint praise at best.
President Bush panders to the Left and they hate him anyway.

President Bush: STOP PANDERING !!! They will verbally slam you anyway !!!

We’re getting close to phase 2 of the Global Warming Scare, the implementation of environmental controls.
Anyway, it ain't your money to throw around.
What a joke. $2 billion over three years won’t even pay for the status report.
