A Florida voter asks McCain about his open-borders outreach director

Dear Michelle,

I attended the townhall meeting earlier today in Polk City and asked John McCain:

Your Hispanic Outreach Campaign Advisor, Juan Hernandez, has written a book referring to illegal immigrants as “New American Pioneers.” Hernandez has also stated that illegal immigrants who use social security numbers of American citizens really don’t steal, they have no choice but to make up a number. Are you aware of his statements? Do you agree with him? If not would you consider removing him from your staff?

John McCain answered that he supported Juan Hernandez because he holds the same views as he (McCain) on other issues. He says that he determines his positions and Hernandez agrees with him, not the other way around. He appeared to be unaware of the specific positions of Hernandez that I related.

I would say I got a non-answer. I did not get a video but all the media were present.

I extremely reluctantly agree with you. There’s still the protection of the Second Amendment and the unborn, amongst other things, to be considered. A ‘rat president is for sure going to work against both.

Nothing I could ever say, no matter how salient, would make any difference to you. That’s not a slam, it’s just an acknowledgement of the reality that is. You think we must elect a democrat from our side rather than face one from the other side. I know you don’t really consider the guys on our side to be this, but I do. They will dissemble conservatism for four years. And I don’t want my hands sullied for voting for them. Just be prepared to defend everything they do over the next four years. And as far left as they take us, be prepared to back more democrats in sheeps clothing, because that’s all you’ll ever get to vote for in November.

I appreciate your take on it. It’s a valid position. I just can’t back it any longer.

Mike Huckabee has changed his mind (and is the only one to sign an no-amnesty pledge).

Apparently, John McCain has not.

The famous few Arkansas conservative attackers of Huckabee have thrown a lot of muck, but I don’t recall them ever saying that he failed to live up to a campaign pledge.

A no amnesty pledge, yeah right. No one else signed it because it is as worthless as the paper it is signed on.

You need to buy a clue, Mike isn’t going to win, so take a break. You just make it worse for him.

Doughty, I have hovered back and forth, feeling the same way that you do.

Frankly, my biggest concern is this (I’m afraid that I’m going to sound paranoid here)—the Second Amendment. So far (except for Giulini), the RINOs have supported it (to the best of my knowledge-PLEASE correct me if I’m wrong). If they grab our guns, it won’t matter what issues we care about-we won’t be able to ever back them up. Just look at Britain, for one, since their guns were taken, never to be given back (barring drastic action), and the rising Muslim population there. That country is screwed. I just cannot let a gun-grabbing ‘rat get into office. With our weapons, at least all things are still possible (don’t mean to sound melodramatic, but it’s the truth).

He did. To bad as he has the best record on National and international security and military and the longest and most background against illegals and the border, especially since part of his dist. runs near the border.

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]
