Fox News' Special Report noted that "in recent days, Thompson's aides promoted him as a vice presidential pick." Romney was the first to weigh in." Asked if Thompson would be on his "shortlist," Romney answered, "Anybody who ran for office in this field is a very strong individual and should be considered as a VP nominee for me or somebody else. He is a terrific and highly capable guy."

I hope all Florida voters who care about America vote for MITT ROMNEY.

This is from an article about Campaign News on U.S. News' web site.

I suspect that Florida governor Crist is at the top of McCain’s list.

I’ve seen two comments posted on FR in the past half hour saying that CNN ran a news scroll indicating that Thompson has endorsed Romney. Still waiting for confirmation, but that would be huge, if true.

I can understand why Romney would want to pick someone with foreign policy experience, but I’d much rather see a VP candidate with a political future beyond that office. Governors Sanford or Pawlenty come to mind.

I’m suddenly becoming a very strong supporter of Mitt. He’s doing and saying all the right things, IMHO.

I lived in Mass. when he ran against Fat Boy Kennedy, and had a lot of respect for him back then, even though it seemed like a doomed mission. It took a lot of chutzpah and a lot of conviction to stand up to the sleazy and underhanded lies of the Kennedys.

Even the junk that’s spewed here on FR ends up being an endorsement for him.

This is from an article published 5 days ago.

Not BREAKING NEWS.

By the way I saw a MYTH ad on TV touting his strong "RIGHT TO LIFE" credentials.

Disgusting.

I understand why Mitt would want him to offset his liberal credentials. I would hope Fred would not consider that. I still believe Fred will be the nominee coming out of a brokered convention.

Romney Thompson is a ticket I could support. McCain anything, I doubt if I could.

Sorry, Mitt you can't just Bushitup and expect to get the conservative vote. I think Bush was smart to pick Cheney, but those time are over now. You're going to lose to the worst kind of socialist this country has ever seen and it's all because the repub conservatives just let go of the reigns!

Unfortunately, we're back to the STUPID party.

Anybody who ran for office in this field is a very strong individual and should be considered as a VP nominee for me...

Does that include Ron Paul?

From what I hear, Cheneys daughter who worked for Fred is endorsing Romney, still don’t see that Fred endorsed Romney.

I don’t think Thompson would consider it.

Thinking pragmatically, why would he?

He just left the race for POTUS.

Was he a Mitt supporter in the first place?

I think not.

The VP is about as useless as T*ts on a bull.

Be surprised if Thompson wanted that job.
