OVER the years, Ive been deeply moved by the people whove told me they wished they could feel inspired and hopeful about America the way people did when my father was president. This sense is even more profound today. That is why I am supporting a presidential candidate in the Democratic primaries, Barack Obama...

LBJ “inherited” Fiddle and Faddle from JFK, lol.
I too was struck by how Caroline in her endorsement of Obama absolutely put the shiv into BC and HRC. Man, she must be out of this world steamed.
I think she is disgusted with BC, and Hillary.
Uh, Caroline, I have news for you. Your father was not anywhere near as popular as you think he was when he was president. In fact, he was downright unpopular to a huge swatch of America when he was president. He didn’t become popular until after his death. It’s the same thing with many artists: Neither they nor their works are popular until after they have died.
Another thing: JFK wouod not today be welcome in the modern Democratic Party, as he was a strong anti-communist, which by itself would go against the grain of the modern Democratic Party, which is chock full of marxists and leninists. JFK also supported the 2nd Amendment, much to the consternation of his bloviated and besotted younger brother.
Heh.
I was talking to the DE who gave him his ticket and even he said that he didn’t feel good about doing it.
He was trained just up the road from me.
Dude had a rep as a poor pilot trainee. - But to be fair, my DE wasn’t exactly thrilled with my first checkride either. 8^D
Waste of a good plane, IMO.
I would vote for him.
In fact, I may do so on tuesday, but I don’t know.
Certainly, I will not vote for mitt or huckabee.
The guy’s personal life was a sewer.
He died when I was 11. I still remember the day.
A good essay on his personal life:
Image And Reality
Dear God, yes it has.
And I blame the American educational system for it.
That is bill?
Kennedy was such a sleaze, that Phil Graham, the publisher of the Washington Post, warned him that he could no longer cover for him, as he was too public, and would have to report it. A few weeks later, Graham was found dead, a “suicide.” People wound up dead around JFK, ask Marilyn Monroe... if you could. TONS of people wound up dead around the Clintons. Which begs the question; why do so many people wind up dead around Democrats after they have a “disagreement” with them?
Yes.
One of history’s big “what ifs.”
“I dont like Obama, but I dont consider him to have maniacally evil intent.”
Agreed.
Yep, and he was a hell of a good writer. That’s what he wanted to do, but his father had other ideas. After his older brother died, JFK was forced into politics. It seems only Teddy and oldest brother Joe WANTED to go into politics. JFK would have been happier as a writer, and probably would have lived longer.
Of all of the words ever penned in ink, or spoken by Man, these four are among the saddest: "it might have been."
Jackie Kennedy was truly one of history’s most tragic figures. The Kennedy clan treated her like sh!t from Day One, and that’s a fact. The woman had class, grace, and always seemed to rise above the fray, and against near impossible odds. She brought the only ray of sunshine to the darkness that was the Kennedy clan, and they despised her for it.
I always liked and respected Jackie Kennedy.
Jackie also tried to keep her children away from the rest of the Kennedy clan, especially Teddy. As she lay dying, Teddy sobbed that “I know I embarrassed you.” Jakcie said something about “you all embarrassed me, and try to spend the rest of your life with your wife.” Jackie was beaten up by JFK, he was such a creep. I felt so sorry for her, as her life was so wretched. Maurice made her very happy, and according to her children, treated her like a queen. Democrat women hated her, and said things like “she deserved to be treated like crap by JFK, as she was a b’’tch. She was NOT, she became one BECAUSE of the way he treated her. She was so far superior in every way to the Kennedys, that I think they resented her. They only thing she ever said about JFK was that she came to hate him. Well, duh. Classy, nice lady who deserved better,
“Yep, and he was a hell of a good writer.”
Was he? He didn’t even write “Profiles in Courage,” which earned him a Pulitzer (it has pretty much been accepted that Kennedy cohort Ted Sorenson wrote the book, or most of it). Ditto with JFK’s most famous speeches.
Also when she lay dying, there were reports of JFK’s sisters screaming out things like “Jackie, so and so says they love you.” Typical Kennedy classless behavior. Can you imagine dying, with those Kennedy skanks commenting loudly in the background? Hope Jackie had a sense of humor.
Like salt in a wound.
He wrote part of it, and also wrtoe a brilliant college thesis,”Why England Slept,” about the growing menace of Hitler. Maybe the Dem candidates today whould read it. Although they would be so angry they would trash it.
