"Lorraine was positive all the way through. She had strength for both of us. I can't begin to describe how brave she was. Towards the end we knew things weren't going well but she was overjoyed that she had given life to Liam."

"When Liam is old enough, I won't tell him that Lorraine gave her life for him but I will say she made sure he had a good chance of life. She told me she didn't want him to feel bad about it," Mr. Allard added.

Godspeed to a wonderful mother!

Many of today’s mom’s-to-be abort just so they can have FUN (make more babies)! Pigs.

Dallas Cowboys coach Tom Landry’s daughter, Lisa, did the same thing. Refused chemo, gave birth, died of liver cancer.

My wife once worked with a lady in the same predicament. She also chose to keep her baby knowing it would cost her life. She never regretted her "choice", either.

There are those who will pooh-pooh and ridicule such sacrifice. Pity them...They know nothing about love.

Some years ago our then priest’s wife came down with cancer while pregnant. The doctors told her to abort which of course she wouldn’t do. They told her and the priest that the cancer would definitely kill her if she didn’t start treatment right away. She didn’t; it would have killed the baby. They had a fine healthy boy who is now about 18 years old...and she died of the cancer just as the docs said she would, but she died a mother.

although the doctors had said the cancer was no longer curable

Liver cancer is not curable. The best you can do is delay it. This poor woman was doomed, and anyone that suggested she abort this baby for a "cure" was being very disingenuous.

It is instinctive for us to cling to any hope of a little more life. For this woman to voluntarily give up even the short time she had remaining is a lesson in love and humanity that should be admired by all. I am in awe of her love and courage.

Heisman Trophy Winner Tim Tebow Could Have Been a Victim of Abortion
LifeNews.com ^ | December 9, 2007 | Steven Ertelt

Posted on 12/11/2007 5:07:50 AM PST by Sopater

University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow became the first sophomore in the history of the NCAA to win the coveted Heisman Trophy as the best football player in the nation. However, Tebow’s accomplishments may never have been supported had his mother followed a doctor’s recommendation to have an abortion. With 29 passing touchdowns and 22 rushing touchdowns, Tebow displayed the kind of versatility that has become more valued at the quarterback position.

Pam Tebow and her husband were Christian missionaries in the Philippines in 1985 and they prayed for “Timmy” before she became pregnant.

Unfortunately, as the Gainesville Sun reports, Pam entered into a coma after she contracted amoebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by a parasite found in a contaminated food or drink.

The treatment for the medical condition would require strong medications that doctors told Pam had caused irreversible damage to Tim — so they advised her to have an abortion.

As the Sun reported, Pam Tebow refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the devastating disabilities physicians predicted.

Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and, eventually, gave birth to a health baby boy in August 1987.

As she told the newspaper, Pam was not surprised that her son would be up for the Heisman despite no underclassman receiving the award since its inception in 1933.

“The combination of Timmy’s God-given talent, hard work, character and leadership have made a mark on and off the football field,” she said.

As prominent researcher Joel Brind writes in a new LifeNews.com editorial, doctors are frequently telling women they should consider abortions when confronted with various medical situations affecting their health.

Yet, as he notes, physicians can successfully treat both mother and child without suggesting that the baby be killed to spare a mother’s life.

Because Tim Tebow was spared, he’s wowed a nation by his athletic skill and, at his younger age, has an opportunity to become the second person to win two Heisman awards.

May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You In God We Trust Rich

Wow.

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Any loving mother would gladly exchange her life for their child. It takes an exceptional woman to give it for her unborn child.

I know that none of us is deserving of God’s grace, yet can’t help but think there are a few who come very close. May the child someday, somehow, understand how great a person his mother was.

I was heartbroken when I read this story. Words don’t do her justice and it is hard to describe such bravery.

In life heroes are never those who are most obvious.
The true heroes are really never noticed or acknowledged.
The silent strength of the most courageous that comes only from the Lord in times when needed.

Sacrifice is not explained in words it is demonstrated
through actions and ways of the heart. And this dying Mother’s love for her unborn child, which she had never yet seen, never yet held, never yet heard cry or laugh proves that she may have lived as one of us mere humans, but she died a hero.
