3-Alarm Fire Burning On Top Of Monte Carlo (Fire Contained)

Fire crews on top of the 3,000-room hotel at 3770 Las Vegas Blvd. S. are trying to contain the blaze, which broke out shortly after 11 a.m.

Four welders who were working on the roof were trapped there, but they were recently rescued.

The blaze began at the top of the hotel and has spread down into four different parts, including the roof, a top corner of the building and a couple of floors down from the roof. There are 32 floors and about 3,000 people staying at the hotel, which is owned by MGM Mirage.

We stayed at the MGM Grand a few times when I went to conventions down there.My husband always got the lowest floors he could get.He is a retired fire fighter and knows how hard these fires are to fight.

Looks like multiple points of origin from the outside view. That may just be due to the way the fire has developed within the interior.
