It’s been the media action-line, as long as I can remember, all the way back to Gerald Ford. Republicans are ALWAYS portrayed as imbeciles and idiots, while Democrats are ALWAYS brave and caring people..

You're right but it actually that goes back to Ike and Aldlai Stevenson. Ike was a nice guy but didn't compare to Stevenson's intellect...Stevenson didn't get elected because he was "too smart" for the electorate, etc. etc.

We've heard all this again regarding Reagan/Carter, and especially Bush/Kerry.

"Clinton tells NBC 'TODAY' show on Friday: 'I probably have taken hundreds of thousands of pictures"

So Shrillary was taking HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of pictures during her sojurn in the White House.

I guess being an aprentice paparazzi makes for an excellent president.

If Regan was an actor I guess a photogapher is OK.

Memo to self....file a Freedom of Information suit to get a look at these historic pics.

A wing at the Smithsonian no doubt.

IF the photo was taken on the same day as the Chicago Mosely-Braun fund raiser, then it wouldn't be difficult for someone to track down the big donors at the event. There should be records.

Assuming the Clinton wanted to meet and greet all the potential deep pockets in the room, I'd be willing to wager this wasn't their first or last meeting with the slum-lord. He had to be on the White House Christmas Card list, at the least :)

For her to deny she doesn't remember him, is laughable.

“”That’s her “vast right wing conspiracy” hairdo, making it about 1998 I’d say””

I was going to say the same thing. There was a re-run of that last night on Hannity (I believe) so it was fresh in my mind.

I didn’t claim you were the only person. You put forward a position and I responded to it. If you don’t want your position responded to, then why not add a disclaimer at the end stating so?

Great find. Note the presidential seal on her podium. barf.

Haven’t read the entire thread, so don’t know if this has been linked yet. The Chicago Sun Times did a great summary last April of Rezko’s contributions. http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/353782,CST-NWS-rezpols23.article

Looks like Rezko’s MO was just spreading money around to keep his gravy train rolling. Probably not a party idealogue; it’s just that most of the pols in positions to keep his cash flowing happened to be Dems. Typical chicago cost of doing business. The non-illinois donations are probably just more suck-up the local pols, ingratiating himself to the local pols who get credit with the DNC and the Clintons for steering money to designated coffers.

But the point is, everyone in chicago and the DNC knew who Rezko was. Consequently, so did Bill and Hill.

"Clinton tells NBC 'TODAY' show on Friday: 'I probably have taken hundreds of thousands of pictures"

Somebody ought to do the numbers. I know I saw an article here a month or two ago detailing bill's fees for fundraisers. So much for a seat at the dinner table, so much for a handshake, so much for a photo op. I think the photo op was maybe $10,000 or some such figure.

And we know they've been doing this for a good long time. It was so much for a visit to the White House, so much for a night in the Lincoln Bedroom, so much for a seat on the plane to Jakarta, and so forth.

So, what's 100,000 pictures at maybe $10,000 a pop come to, anyway?

Actually, I think she may have been referring to the paintings on the White House walls when they moved out.

>>Too damn funny<<

This one seems misdirected. So the Clintons stood near him. That kind of pales compared to the Obamas buying a house for $300,000 under market the same day the Rezkos bought the lot next door for full price.

backyard conservative - excerpt

This should be an election issue. More background here, including charges of sexual harassment at IPA. Note the prominent recipients of IPA’s cash, as outlined in Curry’s post this summer:

Notable unreturned donations
Hillary Clinton $150,000 including ride on IPA corporate jet in 2004
John Edwards $6,000
Democratic National Senatorial Committee $86,000
Democratic National Congressional Committee $32,500
John Kerry $47,500
Melissa Bean, U.S. House, $23,700
Ted Kennedy $2,000
Rod Blagojevich, Illinois Governor $25,000
Lisa Madigan, Illinois Attorney General $20,750
Dan Seals, Congressional candidate, $8,400
Jan Schakowsky,U.S. House, $2,000
Chris Lauzen, Illinois State Senator $77,650

Notable returned
Barack Obama, $2.000
Rod Blagojevich, Illinois Governor, $195,200
Andrew Cuomo, New York Attorney General, $20,000
Jim Doyle, Wisconsin Governor, $10,000
Peg Lautenschlager, former Wisconsin Attorney General, $25,000

This list does not include donations from IPA’s lawyer, Myron “Mike” Cherry, deemed by the news media to be “Individual H” in the Tony Rezko indictment. Cherry was on the host committee of a recent Hillary Clinton fundraiser in Chicago and he raises and or donates money to many Democrats, including the slow-on-the-draw AG Madigan.

Over 300 responses on this thread alone, all basically holding the same position I put forward, i.e. that the Clinton's have very selective memories and accept money from some nefarious sources, another which MAY have just surfaced. I have to defend that positon to you? Are you sure you're on the right forum?

According to the Washington Post:
“William Miceli, Obama’s supervisor at the law firm, said the firm represented the Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corp., a nonprofit group that redeveloped a run-down property on Chicago’s South Side with Rezko. He called Clinton’s assertion that Obama represented Rezko in a slum landlord business ‘categorically untrue. He was a very junior lawyer at the time, who was given responsibility for basic due diligence, document review,’ said Miceli, adding that Obama did what he was told by the firm. According to Miceli, that was the only time Obama worked on a Rezko-related project while at the law firm...But investigations by Chicago newspapers have not produced evidence that he represented Rezko in a slum landlord business. What has been demonstrated so far is that he did some due diligence legal work for a joint venture between Rezko and a Chicago nonprofit. Two Pinocchios for Clinton.”

http://news.yahoo.com/s/huffpost/20080124/cm_huffpost/083040

Remember that Whitewater ultimately cost the taxpayers $60 million to investigate. Plus the Clinton’s tried and failed to stick us with their legal fees!
