Check out this link for a running poll.
And so then maybe the inverse is true? That personal greatness declines as national greatness declines? I don't agree that if the US scaled back our role as Global Leader that we'd be a less great nation. I think the opposite would be true. I think if you look at our history we were a greater Nation when we meddled less in the other nations affairs. This idea that we would personally be diminished if the US had a more humble foreign policy may be at the root of most Freepers fear and loathing of Ron Paul or any politician who does but support our quarterbacking the world. The notion of an intrinsic relationship between National and personal greatness reminds me a bit of 1930's Fascism. In Fascism, the individual had no existence outside the State. Of the State, for the State. We of course have a tradition of individual Liberty and worth that does not derive from the State but from the creator.
I trust all of them except Huck on that issue.
Joe Six-Pack
Damn!
THAT is the right answer.
I screwed up - can I get a do over?
Adam Smith bump
Which one believes in market-based repairs?
Without even looking at the poll, I will vote here and now: (d) NONE OF THE ABOVE
Ron Paul, of course. But I won’t vote for him for other reasons.
On the same day my Wife and I were pondering how to use our stimulus package Tax Rebate to stimulate the economy - Huckabee tells us in last nights debate that he thinks it would be better spent adding 2 lanes to a highway on the East Coast. Oh yea, now that’s a great way to stimulate the economy in fly-over country and out here on the West Coast - NOT.
Ron Paul, without a doubt. He’s got his blind spots, but the economy certainly isn’t one of them.
Taxcuts,Taxcuts,Taxcuts (personal and business)
Of the Republicans left in the race I would say Mitt Romney would be the best to do something about our economy.
I know thats sacasm.
