Liberal Group Plans Yearlong Anti-Bush Campaign; Goal Is To Deny Positive Legacy.
A liberal advocacy group plans to spend $8.5 million in a drive to make sure President Bush's public approval doesn't improve as his days in the White House come to an end.
Americans United for Change plans to undertake a yearlong campaign, spending the bulk of the money on advertising...
In selling the plan to fundraisers, the group has argued that support for President Reagan was at a low of 42 percent in 1987 but climbed to 63 percent before he left office.
"All of a sudden he became a rallying cry for conservatives and their ideology," said Brad Woodhouse, president of the group. "Progressives are still living with that."
The group is a nonprofit corporation that made a splash by airing ads against Bush's plans to overhaul Social Security in 2005. The group has conducted polls and focus groups and is now raising money for their anti-Bush effort. It gave a Power Point presentation to representatives of about 30 liberal and labor organizations last week.
It plans to announce the campaign at a press conference Thursday afternoon during a forum featuring liberal critics of the administration. It also aims to air its first ad in advance of Bush's State of the Union speech on Monday.
Woodhouse said one goal is to make sure Bush does not enjoy a resurgence in public approval toward the end of his presidency that could help Republican congressional candidates and the Republican presidential nominee in this year's elections.
"Framing his legacy helps us in the '08 elections..."

So, the last 7 years have been pro-Bush? Maggot infested libs are good for a laugh or two, aren't they?
Which one? There can’t be more than one, can there?
What a waste of time and money. It is not important what some people think of George Bush’s presidency today or next year or even 10 years from now. What will be important is what Bush’s presidency means in the longer term picture of geo-political events. What a bunch of losers.
Ooooo Power Point presentations... I wonder how many fell asleep?
Little do these idiots know that 20-30 years down the road Mr. Bush will be considered one of the greatest presidents.
Why? For the simple reason that he said what he was going to do and he did it. He told the world he was tired of terrorists thugs punching America in the nose and not fighting back. Well this America doesn't bring a knife to a gun fight.
And when you read that Hillary or Obama gave the money their criminal supporters gave them to "Charity", read liberal foundation that runs programs to disaffect voters from Republicans and win voters to the Dem side.
You've got it right; it's all a SCAM.
Good luck with that...
where the hell have they been. we’re in the eight year of an anti-Bush campaign
Or...and this is a very big OR, half in quest, but, not totally in quest, do they think they can co-share this, too?
No attack on a term-limited President ever fed a hungry child. /s?
She won't share and ship him off as ambassador to Ireland, or some such. Without him hogging the limelight, she'll work tirelessly toward her goal: HillaryCare.
***Shudder***
Do you remember the empty feeling you had when you saw Ronald Reagan leaving office on his final day?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Sure, but it was nothing compared to the awful feeling when G.H.W. Bush left office and the Devil’s duo from Arkansas walked in and even that was surpassed by the agony of ‘96 when Dole was defeated. I am unsure exactly how I managed to survive that without winding up in a rubber room.
Impossible, Clinton is.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Naaah, Clinton is too lazy to be the Antichrist, he is merely a tool of the real one.
