Some think ex-president stooping on campaign trail (Bubba criticized for being unstatesmanlike)

AIKEN, S.C. - Bill Clinton was already working the crowd with a vociferous appeal to vote for his wife when the dozens of people jostling to get inside the auditorium provoked a campaign worker to cry out, "Adults should not be acting this way!"

Coincidentally, Clinton's sharp- elbowed advocacy leading up to Saturday's South Carolina primary is prompting some pundits and fellow Democrats to voice a similar sentiment: Should a former president be acting this way?

Several prominent Democrats say no. In recent days, they have publicly warned that he is hurting his party and his own status as elder statesman by taking on the highly charged role of critic-in-chief of Hillary Clinton's main Democratic rival, Barack Obama.

Obama has accused the Clintons of double-teaming him with inaccurate attacks, complaining during Monday night's debate, "I can't tell who I'm running against sometimes."

Bill Clinton is unapologetic about jumping into the game. Yesterday, he bristled at the Obama camp's criticism of his role and lashed out at the media for fixating on race.

Clinton fans who have come out to see him in South Carolina - where he has emerged as primary spokesman for his wife's campaign - say they believe he is acting the way any husband would if his wife's career was on the line. Hillary Clinton made much the same argument during Monday night's contentious debate with Obama, saying, "I think we both have very passionate and committed spouses who stand up for us."

But Bill Clinton is no ordinary spouse.

He’s never acted even remotely “statesmanlike” - why the heck would they expect him to now??

They should have started with Carter. It’s only a problem when it’s aimed at them, lol.

Just proves that you can take the white trash out of the trailer park but you can’t take the trailer park out of the white trash.

But Bill Clinton is no ordinary spouse.

No, he's certainly not.

But this is a game that's been done before: Hillary Clinton is merely a stalking horse for Bill Clinton's third presidency. Governor George Wallace did the same thing in Alabama back in the 1960s, and Bill Clinton is reprising the role of "First Gentleman".

What I want to know is why the MSM is acting shocked -- shocked! -- that Klintoon is acting like his true self.

Given the sorry state of the GOP field, I find myself more interested in hoping that Obama can somehow push Bubba and the Hildebeast off a cliff.

"Some think ex-president stooping on campaign trail"

"Some think ex-president stupid on campaign trail"

(Correcting the editor's obvious spelling error.)

Mr. Clinton was a poor statesman and representaitve of the United States while president.
I could list the many ways but suffice it to say his ejaculating in a side sink while pleasuring himself and doing Monica and selling the Lincoln bedroom are just a few ways.
How can anyone expect him to act as an adult and elder statesman when all he ever thinks of is getting his weenie waxed?
This buffoon is has been and always will be a self absorbed p.o.s. and those who follow him are just plain stupid.

I guess they somehow missed him being un-statesmanlike for the last 7 years, attacking the current sitting president at every opportunity, foreign and domestic... not to mention being un-statesmanlike the previous 8 years before that, boning interns and treating all Republicans worse than any shadowy foreigner with a bag of campaign cash to sweep under the DNC rug... or hide under a pillow in the Lincoln bedroom...

Expecting Bill Clinton to act statesmanlike is like expecting something different to come out of an a$$hole.
