Hugo's Citgo as a fuel supplier so some of the locations? Appropriately their ad campaigns show the company being ran by a clown... I understand it is only one of many suppliers, but it's hard for me to believe that a company with it's roots in San Diego, CA would be doing business with a man that has aligned himself with Ahmadinejad while Iran imports weapons into Iraq to Kill American military members.

Disturbing since I am a large JBX shareholder. I will make a call tomorrow and report back.

This may be a non-issue. We have a Jack In the Box/7-11 combo a mile from my house. They have the cheapest gas in the area and every one of their pumps have a big sticker on them that say, “We no longer accept Citgo credit cards.” In addition, I haven’t seen a Citgo logoed tanker truck there in many months.

I think 7-11 got the message.

Yea the 7-11 on the corner from me switched from Citgo to some other gasoline about 2 months ago. Was shortly after signs went up that they no longer accepted Citgo cards.

Too bad about Jack. I’m not a share holder but I eat lunch there almost every day. None of my local JBX’s have gas stations attached to them though so I never knew about any Citgo connection.

“In addition, I haven’t seen a Citgo logoed tanker truck there in many months.”

Here they changed the name of the stations from Citgo to Petro Express.

Doh! Should have gone to the linked site before commenting. My example is of a 7-11 that just happens to be next to a Jack In The Box.

7-11 made the change in fuel suppliers because folks just stopped buying from then when they sold Citgo gas. I would think the same would happen to Jack In The Box, and for the same reasons.

Thanks for pointing this situation out, and please forgive my jumping to conclusions. It seems to be the only exercise I get these days. LOL!

Here they changed the name of the stations from Citgo to Petro Express.

They did more than change the name. Petro Express is not part of or associated with Citgo. The station must have been sold. Petro Express is owned by The Pantry headquarted in Sanford North Carolina.

A truck stop outside Middletown, DE switched from Hess to Citgo maybe 4 years ago. Like all Citgos, I boycott it.

Valero is the largest refiner in the US and in all of North America. They are based in San Antonio, Texas.

I’m from Maryland. I remember some time a year or so ago, 7-11 stated it was no longer going to do business with Citgo. Yet, in Maryland, there are numerous 7-11’s combined with Citgo - still. I don’t get it.

I said the name on the stations was changed which is why you don’t ever see the name citgo around these parts any longer. That is a fact. I never said citgo and petro express were the same company. Next time why don’t you actually read what a person writes before jumping to false conclusions.

I never said citgo and petro express were the same company.

I never claim you did. You may want to actually read what I wrote as well.

I posted what I did because Petro Express has been the victim of a false email campaign claiming they were owned by Citgo. Many have spread this rumor and when the companies are discussed together on a public forum, I try to point out the difference.

Sorry you felt attacked, that was not my intent.

Cheers.

In this part of the country, Mid Atlantic/WashDC Metro area, they are running ads with Joe Kennedy lauding the praises of Citgo and ‘the people of Venezuela’ for donating fuel for the poor to heat their homes as THE US CORPS SHUT THEM OUT.....Another good reason (not) for the Dems to regain control as ALL THESE PROBLEMS DON’T GET REPORTED WITH A LIB IN THE WH....homelessness, etc etc

Doesn’t Coca Cola sell soda in Citgos? Pepsi? Frito Lays?
How is that any different? Should we avoid all of the companies that sell products in those stores, too?
I just avoid Citgo. Period.
