Don’t forget that Fred was co-chairman of McCain’s run in 2000.

No need to make anything up, David Duke er, I mean Ron Paul is just the gift that keeps on giving. Heck, there may even be a job in it for you. He needs someone to follow him around and explain what he really meant...

Once Ron Paul is out of the race you'll see his supporters disappearing from FR. Promise?

I have him in my default setting right now. I am not voting in our primary, see no point, never done that before so that is a big deal.
If Mitt is the Rep nominee I’ll pull the lever in the general.
Now that does not sound like much, but to anyone who knows me it speaks volumes. I have maxed out on political donations for years, I have organized fund raisers and given a large amount of my time to every presidential candidate I have supported since 1984. Only the last Bush run saw me lessen that commitment because I had a few issues with him. I was full bore on FDT, and had already been working for him here as a volunteer.
So it comes to this, I’ll pull the lever, maybe, depending on how things shake out, if it’s Romney. but I don’t believe in him so that is it.
Huckabee is an idiot.
McPain wont make it, he’ll be nuts 3 weeks from know.
Rudy, well...
I am voting for “Mr. damn what do we have left”, to be honest I don't think he will do well in the general, but I could be surprised.
However I do have a real plan B:
Haley Barbour 2012, Because he has experience in Disaster Recovery.

Yes, you do, if you are a gracious winner.
I take it you are not.

Wish I could. Why don't you take a poll of 'em ~ see where they're going.
If you go back several years you can find more than a few of them hyping DH (which was so bizarre it made me doubt DH's credentials as well).
Let's get the groundswell for John Kasich going.

You say “winner” but the battle is not over -
So yes - I will continue to respond forcefully to smears against a man whom I believe to be best qualified to be President.

Don’t forget that Fred got in the race after McCain was already in. If he supported him, why would he do that.
Stalking horse you would say I bet.
Ok, then why no endorsement.
He and Mccain have parted ways politically for some time. 9/11 changed a lot for the two.

You don’t have to. The way I see it is that we need to repeat our lessons in 2006 and this time gove the WH to the democrats to go along with the House and Senate thus ensuring that conservatives will have no one that will listen to their concerns.

David Duke? LOL
Yes, must be why that well known racist Walter Williams endorsed Paul, right?
Also that other well known racist, I mean economist, Donald Luskin has endorsed him.
You are one sick puppy.

That's a shame. McCain is a fascist (see McCain-Feingold). Fred should have severed all ties with the man over that.
Say, didn't Fred vote to crush free speech rights too?
I'll be doggone.
Neither one of them can be a Conservative if they supported or voted for that abomination.

It has been tossed around by the MSM... and it has failed to materialize. If Fred wanted to influence the race, the time to do so would be now, before McCain drops any further in Florida.
He hasn't, though. One reason put forth is that he's reconsidered his position vis-a-vis the Vice Presidency, and wants to keep his options open. This hasn't been mentioned, but I also don't think an Attorney General, Solicitor General, or perhaps even a Supreme Court appointment is out of the question.
Since he hasn't made an endorsement by now, and has made no indication that he will make an endorsement, it's highly doubtful that he will before the nominee is clear.
In the end, your question makes no sense. It's based on pure speculation that Fred might endorse McCain, when he hasn't done so, hasn't indicated that he will do so, and has given no reasons why he might do so. How, then, are we supposed to judge whether doing so would make Fred Thompson a 'RINO'?
To: Scarchin
Of course.
I wish you were as good as the man you back, as well as some of his supporters here.
Romney showed class, I was impressed.
Perhaps there is a lesson in that for you.
But I doubt it.

Here is the first statement you made “Several weeks ago comparable polls had Freepers supporting Ron Paul OVERWHELMINGLY.” When I asked you what poll you were quoting you said this poll (12/12) Which GOP presidential hopeful did the best job of advancing his chances in todays debate? which is not a who do you support poll like the thread is about.
As far as FR polls being spammed. I don’t think that’s possible in our polls. At least on the member side. I’m fully aware of the Paulestinians tactics of spamming polls. I apologize if I called you one and you are not.

Well, people are still free to vote 3rd party, or write-in, or stay at home. I dont agree with any of those choices but I recognize that some people are going to make them. So I dont think the menu analogy works.
An election is not a dinner party.
No need to overcomplicate the point. Simply pick from the available candidates or run yourself. Too often, I hear conservatives demand that someone else should run for office and have this view and that view. It's always someone else that must step up; never the person doing all the complaining. The only perfect candidate is yourself.

Yawn...
He won by default here, where real conservatives, not Republicans, reside.
Move on already.
