For some reason I followed the Kennedy-Romney race and, listening to the debates, I came away concluding that if I lived in Massachusetts, this would have been the one occasion in which I would have voted for Kennedy.

Then you should have tried living in the state. You would be more knowledgeable and have fewer reasons to be "bothered".

Yes, and since you are the “victor” you can afford to wait the ill will out.

You won, granted it was by default, but you still won. So like Jim said, give it a rest...

So, many Fred heads, at least in my opinion, will reevaluate the candidates left in the race.
I might, emphasize MIGHT, be able to hold my nose to vote for Romney.
Hw wouldn't be, and is not, my first choice. However, when the choices get down to bad and rotten a choice may need to be made, even if that choice is to switch to a different kind of food (voting third party or not voting at all).

I think a lot of Fred's supporters will throw in behind Romney as the lesser of evils.

For myself, I will reevaluate and decide at a later date.

Truly, there is a lack of options on the Repub side...The only way to feel dirtier than voting for democrat-lite is to vote democrat.

I'm more glad that Romney himself was gracious about it. That's far more than can be said for Huckabee, whose juvenile response was to complain that Fred didn't drop out earlier.

I'm not among those Thompson supporters who have moved over to Romney, but it does speak well of the man.

You must not have read what I posted. I'm not a Ron Paul supporter, but I know they're here and they Freep all the polls.

It really doesn't matter what the question asked might be either ~ they hit Paul's name.

You go back through all the polls ever asked and drop Fred out and you'll find yourself looking at a remarkable number of Paul supporters ~ and that's because they Freep the polls.

These are not legitimate polls ~ they are statistically meaningless.

“The poll you quote is titled “(12/12) Which GOP presidential hopeful did the best job of advancing his chances in today’s debate?” not “(1/22) With FRed dropping out, who do you now support for the Republican nomination?”

He never said that it said that, troll. Look at the poll. Lol.

Dick Cheney.

It's tempting - since he is "none of the above" (and would drive the libs absolutely bonkers)- but what does he really stand for and believe?

The problem with your argument is that it’s based a false premise.

Mitt is not winning by “forfeit.”

Who forfeited? Mitt has won the overwhelming majority of conservative/Republican votes in every primary so far.

Also - the standard you set for “being a$$es” is to dispute/confront Romney bashing.

Nice try - but your debate tactics aren’t washing.

Senators never ever say that another senator is "a liar".

That's Senatorial courtesy.

Doesn't mean they like each other.

Tom Coburn, the most principled, conservative Senator since Jesse Helms, has endorsed McCain.

That's one reason I'm glad the polls here distinguish between member and non-member votes.

It doesn't make them scientific, but the members' polls have been fairly reflective of the opinion displayed in forum.

“Truth and honesty have no value to the Paulinoids, however cheap pot and free Bite Sized Skittles are a must...”

What are you talking about?

Did you look at the post in question?

McGruff made up his argument out of whole cloth.

Have fun supporting the gun-grabbing abortion supporting big government solution pushing amnesty loving Mitt. Well, at least those were his positions until he decided to run for POTUS last year. Now he’s the Say Anything candidate.

Folks who post are folks who hit polls ~ mostly.

I post but I don't bother with the polls other than to read them.

Once Ron Paul is out of the race you'll see his supporters disappearing from FR.

How is it that Huck gets beat up and Romney gets a free pass? At least Huck has been a consistent conservative on social issues and hasn’t flip flopped as much. Huck has only modified his stances, not completely changed them to get elected. I would hope that after all these years, Freepers would remain true to their convictions.
