Fredheads, It's Time to Support Mitt
The Jawa Report ^ | January 22, 2008 05:18 PM | Dr. Rusty Shackleford

Posted on 01/22/2008 3:22:24 PM PST by Checkers

Dear fellow Fredheads,

It's time to support Mitt Romney. Can Mitt win in a general election? I don't know. Certainly he has always had a better chance than Fred. And if the opposition is Hillary Clinton, then maybe.

McCain can beat Hillary. But McCain is, well, McCain.

To be honest, I'm not as down on McCain as most of my fellow Jawas and you, the readers. But that's just because I've been a one-issue guy since right around, oh, let me see, I think the date was 9/11/2001.

But still, McCain doesn't get that the border is tied in with our national security.

Mitt does. And he seems to get the war on political Islam.

Sure, Rudy also seems to get both, but it's probably too little too late for him.

I'm hearing some oddball theory that a lot of Fredheads are natural Huckabee supporters. That's insane. Like, certifiably insane.

It's built on the presumption that the evangelical supporters of Thompson are in the same boat as the evangelical supporters of Huckabee. I got news for Tom Edsell: they aint the same animal. Sure, they may have the same funny accent, and so I'm guessing that to an outsider like Edsell the presumption is that they must be the same species. But they're not.

Health care in Mass is with private insurers.

Are the citizens REQUIRED to have it?

But it is still mandated by the state.

Because YOU can hurt the OTHER guy!!

What's mandated is HIS protection - not YOURS!

There is NO 'requirement' that YOUR sorry butt be protected from YOUR bad driving habits!

Some of it done for dishonorable reasons that we wont go into.

But the REST of it is spot-on; as they say...

“This may be true; but the man is stuck with that FACE!”

Paul is a sexy woman compared to Hillary!

Sheesh.

Good post. In other words, Romney represented the people who elected him while pushing a conservative agenda where he could.

Now that Fred is gone, I might vote for Mitt, but only because Ann Coulter seems to like him.

From the looks of this thread, it would seem the Rep Party will be in shambles for some time to come.

Fred was our only chance for someone without baggage.

That was Fred’s position as well on abortion — rape, incest, life of the mother, allow states to decide.

That's totally inconsistant with the concept that the unborn are persons with a constitutional right to Life. If the unborn were not persons, but say a vestigial organ, like an appendix, I'd be the most pro-choice person in the world. This equivocation reveals a total misunderstanding of the pro-life position and a fundimental flaw in philosopy.

“Fred was our only chance for someone without baggage.”

Fred was good but he did have baggage.

I love that one. Think it is even better than the one of Mitt on stage debating himself.

“For those who no longer have a candidate, Romney is the conservative choice.”

Nah. I’m just going to wright in “Jesus Christ of Nazareth”, buy some guns, and wait for the rapture.

“Why?”

Uh, maybe because some people don’t want to buy it and this is supposed to be a free country?

We may have to vote for McVain and hold the nose as well. Her Heinous and Borat Obama are too terrible to contemplate.

You’re not thinking of what I wrote. Your analogy is illogical.

Ok, thanks.

I honestly don’t care about these little things politicians do - it’s their stance on the issues that’s the ONLY thing that’s important. They all make fools of themselves at one time or another.

McCain can beat Hillary. But McCain is, well, McCain.

No he can't. Thats the fable. THere is video of McCain on the stump talking nutso, literally incoherent. The Clintons have this video and his mental capacity will be questioned. That combined with his age.....forget it.

Yes, I know that real doctoring now takes a backseat to following the HMOs instructions and fighting with insurance companies. That’s another reason why eliminating insurance companies would be good.

But my sister, a neurologist, pulled in around $400K a year. That’s rather excessive, IMO. Specialists make a lot more money than GPs.

Romney looks like something out of The Stepford Wives. A totally artificial, cardboard, made-to-order politician.

The guy is a complete fake.
