McLean, VA - Senator Fred Thompson today issued the following statement about his campaign for President:
"Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people."
From the Thompson campaign? That's odd. Wonder why I didn't?
You make fun of and say that as if principles mean nothing to you. America HAD its chance, but wanted more sparklies and pretty hair and ego...lots and lots of ego. So, sparklies and hair and ego is what we'll end up with, IMHO.
This was the first time I've been led to really get involved in a primary. I found out that I should never work for a campaign! I was on 'media blackout' during the SC vote and once Rush announced the news, I turned off all media and cranked up Queen's Greatest Hits followed by some jammin' Lynyrd Skynyrd!
I'm going to remain on media semi blackout. Too much going on. Locally, we've had 4 babies tossed off a bridge and yesterday the fourth child was found and now their mom can bury them all together. A radio personality who made me laugh many a morning buried his 2 yr old son yesterday. It was a somber day even before Rush gave me the news. I'm just glad I heard it from Rush and not some tickled $hitless poster or newsreader. (please pardon my french).
Again, thank you all for your hard work and it truly was nice getting to know you! I look forward to seeing ya'll around 'da Freepin' hood'. :)
I should have included you in this above post. :)
ping to my post!
It will still be fun. We are a wanted commididty right now. Voters without a home.

Fred Thompson And Duncan Hunter
by Mike HuckabeeSend to a friend
Today, Senator Fred Thompson announced that he will no longer seek the Republican nomination for President. I wish Fred the best.
Freds decision, along with my friend Congressman Duncan Hunters departure from the race, narrows the presidential field. I want to thank these fine men for their contributions to the debate. Our Party, and our nation, depends upon the patriotism and dedication of men and women who get involved in the political process.
It goes on a few more paragraphs..blah blah blah vote for ME ME ME. My comment to him was nope.
My comment to Mike Huckaboob is HELL NO!
Indeed.
Huckabee is an idiot.
This is the sad truth. The liberal media, which far too many here have pronounced dead but still follow religiously, has now honed it's method of removing conservatives down to a science and we may never see another conservative in the White House again.
I’m sorry to hear that. Thanks for letting me know. I’m afraid I’ll be dead and you’ll be an old man before a conservative is on the ballot again. Assuming there is a republic left for one to be President of.
Yes, I knew them outside the site.
Sorry for your lose. I’ve had the opportunity to meet some FReepers in my area and have chosen to remain anonymous. Maybe it’s better that way.
A RINO would appoint the same lefty judges, except then the Senate would sit by and let them get confirmed.
No thanks.
Really? So you mean the Mitt would appoint lefty judges, and then the all the Republicans in the Senate would help get them confirmed, right?
It’s okay. You can close the blinds and watch the results in November. We’ll do the work to preserve American that you won’t. If Hillary or Obama get in, then hold onto your wallet, and watch out for pissed off soldiers, not to mention Arabs that don’t know how to land.
He certainly put up lefty judges in MA.
Lefty judges or, not conservative enough for you?
Don’t forget to note the last paragraph:
“Romney met with Tuttman and reviewed her qualifications, and then forwarded Tuttman’s nomination with his endorsement to the commonwealth’s Governor’s Council, an eight-member body elected to screen and confirm a variety of gubernatorial appointees, including judicial appointees. The council approved Tuttman’s nomination.”
Great selection of judges there, Willard.
