Fox News ^

Posted on 01/22/2008 11:17:25 AM PST by tpanther

Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

That’s a pretty reasonable guess.

It was reported that Thompson stood with McCain when McCain announced McCain-Feingold campaign reform bill(which a lot of people of selective memory on)....and McCain and Thompson has never really gone at each other,...and they both claim to want to talk straight to people.

So, for the Fredheads out there, he would be a heartbeat away.

Neither candidate is dynamic but I believe the is a sense of national security that will be adequately addressed (now with McCain wanting to focus on border security). The southern and western candidates (Tennessee being southern) being successful for president over the past 40 years:

Bush
Clinton
Bush
Reagan
Carter
Nixon

Oh I agree...but again the effort needed to repair these Chinese fire drill moments...no matter how satisfying the “I told you so’s” would be (and would ONLY be spun as all W’s fault anyway, btw) may well be perhaps insurmountable.

That’s the thing about liberalism, it doesn’t work but no matter how well that truth is proven, over and over...their answer is more liberalism! Imagine all the judges appointed, the suppression of free speech as Rush has warned, the sneaky under the table damage...file-gate, FBI-gate, whitewater-gate, Monica-gate, sheesh too many to list!
Liberal professors, re-written history AND laws, MSM even worse than it is now with PC gibberish! Remember when Bubba pardoned all those people on the way out?

Look how liberals vote now! Inner city poor are promised they won’t be so poor if they simply vote hypocrat and big blue cities have been doing just that for HUNDREDS of years in many cases even as it gets worse and worse!!!

And then they just blame it on Republicans anyway!

Look at Hurricane Katrina!

No, letting them destroy the country only to show them that they did, will accomplish nothing but destroying the country. I don’t want to see any more don’t blame me I voted for Bush bumper stickers!

I actually saw Shrillary assert that the surge isn’t working, the ‘change’ is merely because idiots like her have been threatening to put a stop to W’s blank check writing to the Iraqi govt and since the Iraqi govt has been put on notice, AND they know the free ride is over come Jan 2009, THAT’S why things have improved!

Her willful suspension if disbelief...

and yet she’ll swear on a stack of Bibles she supports the troops; after undermining their accomplishments and the CIC not to mentiioopn calling General Petraeus a liar...and taking credit for herself for the surge working now!

It’s literally their idea of patriotism and supporting the troops!

No, I can’t see handing her the keys.

As I said elsewhere our party can be repaired, our country may well not be with those two (or three) loose!

I’ve got kids, and want the best for them, that’s all.

I would have been proud to vote for Hunter, were it not for his supporters' behavior.

Are you so totally lacking in principle that you would not vote for a true Reagan conservative like Duncan Hunter because the behavior of some of his supporters upset you and hurt your liddle feelings?!?!?

You're not voting for the people who support a candidate, you're voting for the CANDIDATE!!!

Don't you get it?

As a conservative, I feel like a Jew in a restaurant where the only thing on the menu is pork chops or bacon.

Mitt Romney advanced more conservative principles in this one speech than any other candidate’s speech:

Mitt Romney has also lied more than any candidate since Bill Clinton. All you have to do is google Mitt Romney's lies and count the sites that pop up.

Mitt is saying whatever it takes to get elected, simple as that. If you want to know where he stands you have to look at his actual record - which isn't conservative. AND you have to look for it someplace else besides Mitt's campaign site.

For example:

1. http://massresistance.org/docs/marriage/romney/record/ (The Mitt Romney Deception)

2. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080120/ts_nm/usa_politics_romney_record_dc (Mitt Romney's Economic Record Questioned)

3. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/01/20/mitt_romneys_economic_record_questioned/ (Mitt Romney's Economic Record Questioned)

4. This is a good one - from the LOG CABIN Republicans! http://online.logcabin.org/news_views/reading-room-back-up/log-cabin-tv-ad-campaign-sets.html (Setting the record straight on Mitt Romney)

5. http://romneyfacts.com/

6. http://www.observer.com/2007/bad-fight-mitt-romney (A Bad Fight for Mitt Romney)

7. http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/election2008/reps/MittRomney.html (Several articles on Romney's less than conservative credentials)

8. http://www.investors.com/breakingnews.asp?journalid=66479626 (Mitt Romney re-defining the Middle Class)

9. http://www.factcheck.org/more_mitt_missteps.html (More Mitt Missteps)

10. And finally if nominated what the DNC will be putting out: http://www.democrats.org/a/2007/10/when_will_fee-f.php (When will Fee-Fee Romney defend his REAL record?) Not that I'm a democrat or trust democrats -- just saying Romney has given them ample ammunition, like it or not.

How anyone can believe this man is conservative, or anything less than a RHINO is beyond me.

Actually, Giuliani is the only remaining candidate with a proven record as a tax cutter. He also reduced the size of government and restrained spending.

There are lots of reasons to object to him on social conservative grounds, but as an economic conservative issues his record is gold.

I know what you mean!

BUT you can actually either stay and eat at home for 4 years or perhaps even begin building your own restaurant...or at least participate in having some input on the menu choices.

but at least you weren’t beheaded while reading the menu!

And just what kind of victory will that be? A northest rino who is now pandering to conservatives? What a joke.

Nobody has been hit with more lies and distortions than Mitt Romney. Your first link is an example. This has been debunked multiple times. Romney is one of the most decent and honorable men running right now. He’s been a class act, and apparently was a class act today in his response to the Thompson news.

“Mitt is saying whatever it takes to get elected, simple as that.”
McCain is saying whatever it takes to get elected, simple as that. Hillary is saying whatever it takes to get elected, simple as that. Obama is saying whatever it takes to get elected, simple as that. They all are saying things to get elected. Only Romney is the one saying *conservative things*. Yes, he wants our votes and so he is genuinely interested in building a conservative coalition and implementing a conservative agenda.

His speech to the Detroit economic forum was genuine, real, leadership, and I challenge to point out a single thing in there that you consider to be ‘a lie’.

So rather than reashing old debunked hits on Mitt, tell us what is wrong with this ROmney speech:

AMEN! We've got yet more sliding to the left and Republican socialism to look forward to in the GOP thanks to 'conservatives' who vote for Rhinos. Some victory.

To: I see my hands

Exactly, now that Thompson is out, that is exactly my preferred ticket: Governor Mitt Romney/Governor Sarah Palin, versus one (or two) Dem senators. Yes, Romney has the history that suggests that he may not be a consistent conservative - but I ask you - who would you vote for instead? Ron Paul - not a chance. Huckabee, McCain - nope. Ditto for Rudy. Which leaves, ladies and gentlement, Mitt Romeny. Plus, Ms. Palin is very conservative and has extremely high approval ratings (as in over 90%). I think it’s the winning ticket.

Well, there are no more conservative candidates left. Not even a few who do lip service.

So what do we do now?

Please, stop posting Mitt’s campaign site. Merely proves my point for me. And the sites I’ve posted have only been ‘debunked’ by mittbots. Meaningless.
