Fred Thompson is noticably absent from the campaign trail this week.
After finishing third in the South Carolina primary over the weekend... Many wonder if he may drop out of the race before Tennessee and Georgia vote.
But Tennessee Republican Party Chairwoman Robin Smith says his Carolina finish still gives Thompson prominence, and he shouldn't be ruled out just yet.
Smith says, "I think people are starting to ask the question, 'Is he a viable candidate?' I think that's the big question, and we'll have to wait for a couple more days I'm sure."
Smith says the deciding factor will likely come down to how much money the Thompson campaign can raise for a last minute push in Florida.
He’ll be around till March at least. He thinks he can win Texas because of the silly Chritians here supporting him. I hoping his exit will take place after Super Tuesday.
I already said Huck isn’t going anywhere, but he will be there through 2/5.
If Huckabee and Rudy continue to lose support in Florida and elsewhere, like they appear to be doing, Fred’s chances look better than not. It’s anybody’s guess where those voters would go should that scenario prevail. Rudy for sure is not doing well in the South outside of perhaps Florida. Heck, even in two recent polls McCain leads Rudy by narrow margins in New Jersey. Rudy was ahead in the polls as recently as October by 30+%.
If Thompson does drop out I can’t see a large number of his voters going to McCain. That’s why I think if Fred does quit the race he will just say he will support whoever is the eventual nominee.
Try going to Fred08.com That’s an old link.
Good, good. Why is his staff on half pay? Huck IS NOT a serious contender for the nomination
Just donated to the Red Truck with your number. Saw what looked like a good amount at the top but am not certain of the decimal places.
Last I heard was, Huck has only $ 600,000 compared to Fred’s $ 7 million to run on.
I just tried the link, and the red truck is there.
It’s not an old link, either...it’s current.
Sorry, I had a long talk with him at his house yesterday. He is not amused by the Huckster.
“Tennessee Republican Party Chairwoman Robin Smith says”
I think she likes to see her name in print.
There is no sign at all that Fred is planning to continue his campaign. I hope he does, but I expect that he will not.

This is the current link. I wouldn’t use any link provided on a forum lest you get scammed. I don’t see no truck.
Never said it wasn’t an old link. However, I do not think my $50.00 went into space.
Fred08 always said that the Red Truck was for SC. That is over now.
I wish I could predict what he will do going forward. I know that I believe he should hang in there, in the current environment, anything could happen. That is why (despite Fox gleefully reporting that he is out) I just gave him more cash. Not much, but what I had to give.

-—Red truck 1.5 million goal by midnight:-—
“Thompson shakes a few hands, then walks out with the rest of the crowd to the red pickup truck he made famous during his 1994 Senate campaign. My friend stands talking with her colleagues as the senator is driven away by a blond, all-American staffer. A few minutes later, my friend gets into her car to head home. As she pulls up to the stop sign at the parking lot exit, rolling up to the intersection is Senator Thompson, now behind the wheel of a sweet silver luxury sedan. He gives my friend a slight nod as he drives past. Turning onto the main road, my friend passes the school’s small, side parking area. Lo and behold: There sits the abandoned red pickup, along with the all-American staffer.”
Thompson didnt even drive the thing as Kevin Drum recently noted, Basically, he just drove the thing the final few hundred feet before each campaign event, and then ditched it for something nicer as soon as he was out of sight of the yokels.

“Dont you Paulestinians have a Stormfront or a DailyKos meetup to go to?
Tonight’s our bong night. Our parents are out of town and we have the basement to ourselves.”
I’m not a Paul supporter but that was a funny comeback. :) Good on you.
Donate to Fred if you want to, but I would avoid donating to a Nigerian Chief's son on a mirror site
It must be hard to support a crazy man. Of course, that doesn’t say much about you.

I just sent a little more. Looks to be continuing momentum for the campaign as they were close to the goal when I chipped in a bit more. Hopefully by midnight the goal is met and Fred rolls on to Super Tuesday where anything goes.
I have to be gone tomorrow, trying to keep my family going. My Mother is dying, I care enough about a truly good man to donate, and you throw this at me?
I am beginning to dislike this place.
Oh, MOgirl, I am so sorry about your mother. Prayers are going up for her right now.
Take care.
