I beg your pardon sonny, I do the pay roll and the employee pays half of the payroll tax the company pays the other half. Check your numbers. Now if you’re self employed and enter into the SS system, THEN you are accountable for the FULL 15% of your payment into SS and MC. It’s garbage like that that really bugs me.

Mr. Edwards isn’t that stupid, he’s just considering his audience’s intelligence. Remember he made his living giving speeches to folks who weren’t smart enough to get out of jury duty, and he was successful doing it.
